I use to relax (straight) with this year's ago. From what I can remember it was pretty good. I had gorgeous results when I used QP Intense right after relaxing with it.
I'm not sure if it's changed or still the same though. HTH

Stop it You!!!

I didnt know they had a lye relaxer...
I wonder how straight it gets your hair!

Silky Straaaaaaaaight  I never remembered having any breakage with it. I stopped using it b/c I couldn't find it any more. I would use regular strength and my hair was never dry afterwards. As a matter a fact my wet wraps would come out awesome.

LOL! You know you want to know! I get my relaxer on monday (Bantu) and I am having mixed feelings-like cold feet.

What if my hair come out too straight or becomes thin and lifeless?! How long do you think I should leave it in??? Fudge it, I'm gonna make a thread lol!

on Elasta QP's website it says it will straighten you hair no matter how coarse and resistant it is..

I say bologna

I used it for the first time on my sis who has 4a texture and it was very nice, not drying, a silky. I used to use affirm reg on her, but elasta qp lye will be her new relaxer! However i could see using is for textalaxing also, but maybe in mild.

I use Elasta Qp No-Lye and its great. i'm not a lye girl, but elasta qp make some of the best relaxers

Elasta QP lye = Worst. Relaxer. Ever.
Underprocessed my hair and irritated my scalp.

I remember using the NO lye one once and it was ok though. But seriously, don't go near the lye one.

ETA: is probably ok for texlaxing though

ETA: My hair + elasta QP lye

You know I'm looking at your Elasta picture and your hair looks pretty to me.

Thanks :-)
It might be pretty (I hated it!) but it doesn't look relaxed though does it?
That's why I said it might be ok for texlaxing.

Girl your hair looks beautiful in that picture. It looks relaxed to me. It looks so soft.
Every one's hair is different......to some that's relaxed.....to others that's texerized.

:)

It's looks relaxed with a nice soft wave to it.

I use Elasta QP lye and no lye. These are the only relaxers I could use that won't set my scalp on fire. And my hair feels very moisturized after use. Love it.

I saw it today in the BSS and it started talking to me saying "Girl don't you remember the silkiness I gave you?, Don't you remember all the times I was easy to wrap wet?, Don't you remember how how I use to treat you? No breakage, No dullness, No Burning of your scalp?"

I was so entranced I'm most sure that I will be going back to QP, the no-lye version though.

To me it was "what's the point relaxing if my hair is going to looking like this, I might as well go natural"-underprocessed.

And so I did :)

You is crazy! I think this will be my next relaxer if bantu doesn't work out!

Yeah, I didn't know they had a lye relaxer either. Would love to know more...

I completely agree. The regular strength somehow both under and overprocessed my hair. It was barely relaxed, less than 50% straight, after 30 minutes. But my hair really started to shed and I had some breakage, resulting in a setback. My regimen is pretty set--the only thing different was the relaxer. I used it twice in a row; my hair went back to normal after I switched to another brand.
