Elasta QP lye relaxer... YAY or NAY?

I am dying to try this relaxer. It seems to have nice ingredients ( I went to the BSS yesterday and remember liking this one, if someone could post the ingredients that would be great). Also they have an extra body formula that I am interested in. Please share your experience with this relaxer. Please mention if you are relaxed bone straight or texlaxed. Thanks!

My stylist used this on my hair before, and it was okay. She used the mild lye, so after just a few weeks, it looked like I hadnt even relaxed. Next time, I would use regular. I relax straight BTW. All in all, I would use it again--only in the regular lye, though.

I used the regular strength.
I thought motions sucked as well.

Or maybe my hair just didn't like lye relaxers...

NOOOOO! I hated motions relaxer!! At first everything looked A-OK But about 2 weeks later, it looked like I had never had a relaxer in the first place! Stay away!!

Noooo! I hear lots of bad reviews about Motions. I dunno, maybe it will work for you. I hear lots of ladies saying that Motions leaves their hair underprocessed.

I say, if it worked for you before, stick with it.

I used Elasta QP's regular relaxer for the first time about 4 or 5 months ago. It didn't take, but I thought I had done something wrong. I tried it again the end of October and got the same result - under processed. The only good thing about the relaxer is that it got me doing bun and phoney pony styles exclusively because I was scared that the double under processing of my hair would cause it to break, but thanks to hellified conditioning on a weekly basis, my hair is doing pretty well.

I DO use the other products exclusively though, so I have mixed feelings. I love the shampoos and conditioners, especially the anit-breakage serum and the intense moisturizing conditioners...I'll just never do the perm again.

Thanks for the correction because I admit I saw no and lye in the same sentence and assumed. And in fact I should not have made a comment at all becaue you did refer to a specific brand.

No problem. Any relaxer recommendations for me? I am looking for a lye relaxer that will get my hair straight. From the previous responses I'm guessing thats not EQP

I used the regular the last two times I relaxed and had great results. I may go back to mild though because I had skin irritation.

this is not true for everyone, i have fine hair and using a lye relaxer was the worst, my hair was dull, underprocessed, dry and britle

the lye set my scalp on fire and caused my scalp to flake up something terrible (and yes my scalp was based)

i tried elasta qp and mizani, i had the same results

i went back to a no lye relaxer and my hair is soft, shiney, smooth and moisturized

no lye works for me

I currently use Elasta QP no lye regular relaxer. I want to try their no base lye, but I'm thinking of trying the no base lye MILD because my hair becoming dry (due to the weather). Any suggestions or tips? Should I switch to lye regular before I switch to lye mild?
