Okay, okay. I like to view it as being "frugal" from my college days of hording samples of various products that you guys mention on the site (since I was, and still kinda am, BROKE!
rofl.gif
). It seems to have carried over though.

Case and point: I KNOW my hair loves the L'Oreal Nature's Therapy Mega Moisturizing Creme, but I don't want to pay $9.99 (plus tax), well a little cheaper since I have my Sally's Beauty Club Card
cool.gif
, for it at Sally's. If anyone knows of any coupons for it, let me know.
smirk.gif
I don't know why I'm like this about this particular product (since I'll happily shell out dough for Aveda products
ohwell.gif
), but I just am.
nuts.gif

Anyone else a PJ ... on a budget??? What products are you currently oogling, but too much of a tightwide to shell out dough for?

I have become one. I buy nothing now unless it is on some sort of sale. I had been eyeing LOreal Irridescence line since last summer. It was originally between 10-14 for the poo's and conditioners. I bought the poo yesterday for 1.92 and two different conditioners for 2.25 each. I also have buy one get one free coupons for Vo5 conditioners. I see it as being sensible. I don't have a coupon for what you mentioned that price is rediculous for a drug store brand.

THANK YOU, cutebajangirl! I was beginning to feel silly for feeling this way.

That's an EXCELLENT sale. I might have to add the Irridescence line to my "to buy list." That stuff sounds good!
grin.gif

Where did you buy your stuff on sale? Seems like you can always catch a great deal in New York.

Girl I feel your, I would love to try some of the Tigi products but $14 DAMN!! I know I need to stop playing myself im too trifling to buy any salon products I dont care how well they work
laugh.gif
, it hurt just buying Salerm 21 and the Wheat germ mask
grin.gif
. But needless to say I am becoming a PJ but yes I am on a budget.

Girl, I stalked

that TIGI Bed Head Chocolate Head for MONTHS before being brave enough to pick it up.
lachen70.gif
You're not alone, believe me. You might want to just choose one of them to buy. (from the salon, NOT the grocery/drug/mass market food store cause I noticed a difference between my Paul Mitchell The Detangler at Fred & Meyer versus Regis Salons
naughty.gif
, why, I dunno.
confused.gif
All I know is that it was creamier/fresher/deeper penetrating from Regis Salons.
smile.gif
) Anywho, just pick one product you might like and look for discounts (Trade Secret's has 10% student discount days and 10% discounts for folx with VIP cards; ask about 'em.
phone.gif
) ... it can be cheaper than you think. IF you trust the 'net, you might be able to get a decent deal on the 'net.

Which reminds me

Any particular products from Aveda? Or just the whole line?
grin.gif
Sounds like a PJ Fairyland to me.
smile.gif

Well I am right there with you! I've been looking at the Biolage detangler and leave-in. I was able to get the detangler from EBAY for $8($5 plus $3 for s&h) So if there is something I really want I try to go there or just wait for a REALLY good sale. I really like the Rusk Smoother Leave-In though, so I will pay the full $9, without a second thought.

. I won some silk therapy off there, the seller was good, the product was new as described. I saw some Tigi products on there too but I didn't like the prices, I would be paying more than if I just went to the salon to get it. Ah I guess I too am off to stalk

ebay.

Carol's Daughter and Aveda products. I've used products from both lines before, but they were given to me as "goody gifts" from my beautician cousin. I've never bought them on my own.

You might be able to get a deal if you keep checking in with carolsdaughter.com e'ry once in awhile. I'm sooo mad

I am a self professed cheap PJ, I only buy the generic versions of Nexxuss humectress and therappee and I complained about their prices at first too, until I used them and was gladly paying the $6 a bottle. I only try new products if they are on sale.

I agree with whoever said get salon products at the salon.I too have noticed a difference when I buy them at other places. Another benefit is that salons have a money back gaurentee, if you don't like it you can return it.

Thanks for givin' props to my cousin! She does hair from home, and on occasion she gives me samples of stuff from her product stash. I thought she ordered her Carol's Daughter products online, but there's a place locally where she buys them. As far as Aveda goes, they have a store in the St. Louis Galleria (her favorite mall).

I don't know if they're still having the sale, but I know Trade Secret had a sale where you could get two liter jugs (shampoo or conditioner I believe) for the price of one.
smile.gif
You might wanna check it out.

Anyone know if the sale is still on?

I've been curious about Elucence for quite awhile. But I hate to pay shipping on anything. I've also been eyeing the Neutrogena TM line but I just haven't seen enough really spectacular results from naturals using it.

Thankfully I have a local Carols Daughter retailer otherwise I'd be without my HHB until I visit New York.
