What size Flat Iron do you use. I am looking to purchase one but I'm not sure of the lenght or size to get. I don't have a lot of money to spend so also if you can recommend an inexpensive one that is good I would appreciate it.

TIA

I use the maxiglide- I think it is standard size- 3", my hair is at the bottom of my neck (11" in crown, 7 inches around edges/sides)

I have a 1 inch iron (actually its 1 3/8").

I like this size because I can flat iron, flip the ends up or under or do loose spiral curls.

I don't have much of one, going to reasearch which one is the lest expensive.

My main concern is the size, don't want to get one too big

Unforunately, most quality ceramic flat irons are not cheap. What is your budget?

What kind do you have and how much do it cost you

My hair is Neck length and I use a $25 Revlon Hair Appliances Perfect Heat Professional Ceramic Straightener, 1" that I bought from Target for $25. Perfect with WGO. Straight and shiny with one swipe.

Thanks Honey Drew,

I was looking at that one. I will go to Target and look at it again.

BTW - I love your avatar!!!

I have the T3. It's expensive though. I got it for $71 off ebay but it goes for much more.

Many of the ladies here rec the CHI which comes in a 1 inch as well that you can curl or flip with too. Again pricey....

There are definitely cheaper alternatives.

Well,

A few years ago, I used it almost everyday and had to replace it every 3 or 4 months because the ceramic plates start fading a little because of the constant use. I guess it would be more economical to buy one that will last years if you use it everyday, but since I normally do braids and weaves now, It works great when I need it.

About a month ago, I had a full weave with that Sensationnal Goddess hair that is super straight and silky. I used the revlon flat iron to make my hair blend well. I have some pics attached.

I had to keep my hair super straight and did not like the idea of all the heat styling, but that flat iron worked it out until I was able to get braids in.

I have always used the Gold N Hot brand flat iron, until joining this board and heard everyone rave about Ceramic & Ionic flat irons...After a doing a lil research on the internet of different brands. I decided that I wanted to try one, a few weeks ago someone raved about a ceramic ionic flat Iron purchased at Walmart by Conair.

I went out and bought one paid $14.99 for it and I like it. It straightens much better than anyone of the gold n hot types i've ever had. The true testwas on my daughters hair which is 100% ay natural, she has very curly hair (spongelike to me) and it straightened her hair so well, i was impressed, everybody thought I got her hair pressed. Received lots of compliments.

I used it on my own hair and i liked the results, does take a bit of getting used to as its so light. I found a pic, mine is red that i purchased from Walmart...Conair model CS25
