Dying black hair ... ashe brown

I want to say hello to everyone... I have been reading for over 2 years ... however only recently became a member.

You ladies have been awesome!

My question for you all is about dying my hair. I want to try a lighter color. However, I know that if I buy one of those kits it will basically turn it a brassy orange color (I made this huge mistakes 10 years ago).

What do you all recommend I do?

Thanks!!

Leave hair color up to the professionals. Go to the Salon and talk to the stylist about what you want. They should bring out some swatches of color for you to choose.

My #1 advice, bring a picture of exactly what you want. Their version of "ashe brown" may be entirely different than what you are looking for.

Good luck.

I wouldn't dye my hair at all and if I did color it then I would rinse it gradually. Like from jet black, to off black, to dark brown, to ashe brown. By the time I got to ashe it would of taken a whole year. So the salon should do it. Be careful with color.

Thanks everyone for the replies. The salon will probably be the way to go.

Sure Dak, I would like to have the info. so I can learn a little more.
