DUMB QUESTION: New Growth Measuring

Do you stretch your newgrowth before measuring it? Or, do you measure it in its current state, shrinkage and all? I've been measuring mine WITH shrinkage.

You probably should try it stretched b/c the amount and wave of the shrinkage may not be the same everytime....at least if you stretch, you get a consistent profile

Thanks Brownsugar. No wonder I have only 1/2 an inch of newgrowth now (unstretched). I was beginning to get discouraged!
