In hair purgatory
does anyones blow dried hair look dull? it looks duller compared to both wet and air dried hair. I thought this was the way blowdried hair is supposed to look but i notice some people have shiner hair after blow drying. is it the products or the natural texture of the hair?
i usually use a creamy moisturizer to blowdry

BUMP!!!
My hair always looks dull AND DRY after I blow dry.
The only time it looked nice and shiny straight after blow drying was when my stylist did it straight after a relaxer.
I'd like to know how I can get my hair to look decent after blow drying too!

It has to do with amount of heat, blower and health of hair...at the dominican salon my hair blings like crazy...when my cousin does it for me it blings too she has the same blower

i think it has to do with the product/amount of product you use, as well as how straight/smooth you actually get the hair. if the cuticle is all roughed up, it will appear dull, and it will probably become dry. You're supposed to direct the air down the hair shaft, instead of up, to smooth the cuticle.

For example, my hair is often dull after blowdrying (if i blowdry from super damp to dry, if i let it airdry a good amount it comes out shinier) but once i flat ron it (smoothing the cuticle) it becomes shiner.

mine use to be dull until i started deep conditioning with a moisturizing conditioner mixed with a lot of oil (preferably castor 'cause its thick). afterwads i add leave in and heat protectant and my blow dried hair comes out so soft and shinny.

also i have been using vatika oil and it has made a big difference.

My has a little shine when I use a creamy leave-in & CSI before blowdrying, but overall I think it looks a little bit "duller" than a roller set because blowdrying drys my hair out.

4a 4B, It leaves it dull and dry, but once flat ironed increadible shine.
So I really think If some can get a blow dryer that is like a flat iron i.e may be a ceramic type you may get a good shine result.
