We are just getting settled in after coming back from Las Vegas (work trip for me & DH's birthday). I could not take most of my products on the plane (FAA guidelines) so I tried to make due with moisturizer & coconut oil. Wow!!! My hair dried out so fast!!! I am texlaxed & transitioning to natural. I did a rollerset before the trip. It was over 100 degrees for a few days and my hair was just a mess. I intended to pin curl at night to maintain the curls but just pulled it all back with moisturizer & oil. Even my husband commented while we were getting dressed to go out that my hair looked dry.
I ended up wearing my hair pinned up everyday not only because of the heat/dryness but it got pretty windy at night too.
For anyone going to Vegas, be sure to pack as much moisturizer as you can take on the plane. I wish I had packed enough to use at least twice daily. And take some hair pins since it's very windy at night.
My friend/coworker is natural (4a) and her hair loved Vegas. She cowashes daily & uses Aveda "Be Curly". The front is texlaxed with nickel sized curls while the rest is tight 4a spirals. Her hair looked great each day.

But thanks for the club rec. I just want to make sure we have some fun. We are already planning on going to a chapel to renew our vows!!! Q
Well, I stand corrected then. Congratulations on renewing those vows. That's beautiful.
I thought about flat ironing my hair, but I'm not sure if this will work in the heat. According to your post, it seems like flat ironing might be the best option. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Should I try to wash and flat iron when I get to the hotel? I did this once at the beach and the salt air zapped all the moisture from my hair which was a hot mess for the remainder of my trip!
