Dreads Interlocked AKA Crocheted into hair

Hi.

I am really considering getting dreads interlocked AKA crocheted into my hair. I was curious to know if anyone has had this procedure done before. If so, was it damaging? Also, does anyone know where I could purchase some nice silky dread hair online? Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, I meant interlocked, also known as crocheted into hair. It's like the crochet technique (remember when those braids were the new style!). But now, I've changed my mind about them. It appears that the two are NOT the same technique, or at least that's what someone at another hair board told me.
