So I really was all set not to like this product, because I was a bad label reader and did not peep that ETHANOL was the 3rd ingredient listed. WTF? I am about 99% sure this is not a good thing, and on further investigation, I find out that what Dr. Bronner's is using is organic grain alcohol--PJ anyone? (and I ain't talkin' bout hair products! I'm talking the scourge of innocent college freshmen girls everywhere)

But, I couldn't resist trying it out (and I'd already bought it). I have the peppermint one because they didn't have the lavender in store.

Short version: my braid out is very controlled, slightly crunchy, but moisturized. The natural hair in the roots seems to have had a "meh" reaction to the product, but all the hair that made it into the braids is shiny and well-defined. I liked the outcome, but I'm apprehensive about the long term effects of grain alcohol on my hair! I have to say, though, after 3 weeks of rocking a veritable lion's mane, it is nice to see a controlled, shiny braid-out for a change.
