Doobie? Could someone please

This is how I do it:

Option# 1:
After hair is rollerset and dried*, I use a wide tooth comb and part my hair from the crown straight back to the neck. Since I am right handing, I comb the hair in the right side of the part to the right and place a bobby pin (LARGE) above my ear (tips pointing up) and place another one directly above it (crown) with with point facing down. I continue this around my head until my hair is combed and pinned into a king's crown. **DO NOT PUT ANY PINS AROUND YOUR TEMPLE AREA, it will thin out over time** I than tie a silk/satin scarf around my head and leave on at least 3 hours or overnight.

Option# 2
Part hair wherever you want your part to be when you take the doobie out. For the sake of argument, let's say you want the part in the middle. Part hair there (from the crown straight down the front-think nose). Gather the hair on the right side and put it over the hair on the left, securing with a few pins. Then, gather the hair on the left side and pin it to the right side of your head. Place a scarf and leave on overnite. Results are exactly the same except the part looks neater

*You do not always have to have a rollerset before you attempt this. This can be done every night.

CH, for option #2, when you say "gather the hair on the right side and put it over the hair on left", should the hair be gathered towards the left front of the head or left back of the head. Forgive me, I'm trying to get this right. Cuz I'm still a klutz when it comes to doing a doobie.

Starz - please, chile, there was a young lady on here that originally posted the #2 method and i must have asked her 1 million questions so don't even fret. To elaborate, imagine that you parted your hair directly down the middle from nose to neck. Gather the hair that is on the right side of your head and bring it around the back of your head and pin, continue to the left side of your head, pin again. Depending on how long your hair is, you might still be pinning it all the way around to the front past your nose. Than take the hair on the left side and do the same thing.

will this still work with short (ear lenght) hair. With me I am always afraid that I am brushing or combing too much of the curls out. Thanks to the ponytail set method I learned here I have body to my curls now if I could just figure out the wrapping part I will be alright

i part my hair wherever i want it the i start at the right side and comb it till all the tangles are out and put a few pins in the middle of the back of my head to secure it. then i go back to the front left side of my head and make a pie shaped parting and comb it to the right and pin it then i keep going down the left side of my head making pie shaped partings and combing them to the right side of my head. then when i get back to the first part i pinned i just pin the end of that hair up and put on my satin scarf. when i put on my scarf i make sure theres no air in it so that it will stay warm

Re: Doobie? Could someone please

Sometimes I use a paddle brush to wrap my hair, and sometimes I use a wide tooth comb. I don't wrap my hair often though.

No, it isn't.

This may sound stupid but since I want to try this I am seeking clarification. If I take the hair on the right, around the back to the left side how easy will it be to put the left side around the back to the right. Won't the hair be a little bumpy coimg over the already wrapped right-side hair. I am soo not getting this part.

Jo.

That's not a stupid ? at all. It sounds insane but trust me hun, it works.
Depending on how long your hair is, you can pin the rite side of your hair around to your left side, but pin it slighty upwards (meaning around to your right but sort of up. Pin the hair on your right side to your left sort of down (meaning gather the hair and pin it low). Can u picture that?

I'm going to try this to see if I can do it. Won't the bobby pins harm or break the hair over time? Can Good Hair Days pins work for wraps?

You would only be using about 4 - 6 pins for the alternate wrap. The first wrap i spoke up does require about 15 pins but i also made it a point to say don't use them around your hair line. I'm sure the goody pins would work too tho

I can't imagine the Good Hair Day pins working for a wrap. The 2 prongs don't touch each other. I can't imagine your hair staying flat with the Good Hair Day pins.

So do have you experienced any breakage using the bobby pins GodMadeMePretty and CaramellHonee? I think I'd be more interested in the alternate wrap with 4 - 6 pins, which I would like to try tonight. I just don't want to think I'm damaging my hair with the bobby pins while I sleep.

At my temples, yes, but i'm not sure if that was due to the pins OR to my tight ass braids from last year. LOL That is why i don't ever pin my temple area.
