Yes! Only back in the day when I was 7 and had no control of the fact that the stylist put every one ahead of me would this happen...

You know, this makes alot of sense now!:lachen: My stylist used to make me do things to distract me so I wouldn't notice, like organize her rollers and Jet and Ebony magazines. She would always pay me in candy.:lachen: I think i'll pay her a visit when I go home for x-mas!

Yeah this is way too long to be at the salon...stuff like this is one of the many reasons why I don't go to the salon any more! I taught myself and along with this site how to take care of my hair so I can stop going to the salon...sytlist don't respect your time at all...

way too long. did you go on a weekend?

Re: Don't you think that spending 5 hours in a salon for a trim and wash is old schoo

I honestly don't have the patience to be waiting around for hours to get my hair done like I used to. I'll walk out of a shop with the quickness if it takes too long.

Man, I'm glad I can do my own hair now.

Honestly this is how long it takes me at home, so it really isn't that drastic.

Stylist aren't for me though, I love doing my hair at home :)

Re: Don't you think that spending 5 hours in a salon for a trim and wash is old schoo

Never, not in this lifetime or the next.

While the answer to this question is yes, I do exactly that with my hair dresser because I am afraid of going to another hair dresser :perplexed

She's the best I have found, and I am soo.....picky about my hair it's ridiculous

Besides the only time I have to go in is to get my hair Texlaxed. She does a wonderful job of it...I dont have to worry about her skipping steps

Same here. I've given up stylists partly because of this.

At least if it takes that long for me to do my hair at home I can be in my pajamas.:yep:

Re: Don't you think that spending 5 hours in a salon for a trim and wash is old schoo

Yes. That was a regular occurrence every week or every other week when I was in HS. I haven't done that since I got my last relaxer almost 2 years ago. Unless I was getting braids or something.

Re: Don't you think that spending 5 hours in a salon for a trim and wash is old schoo

its just no respect for my time!! that is craZee sitting in the shop for 5, 6, 7, 8 hours! ridiculous. thats why i stopped going, well, i switched salons too but mostly i take care of my own hair, i like to. i think 2hrs is pretty acceptable with me. i do know that when you are scheduled accordingly and the stylist is working like she/he is supposed to, you can get out in an hour and 1/2 tops! i've seen it

Chocolatediva, every time I see your siggy my mouth waters when I see that fine *** man in it lol...

Back on topic, no I will never spend 5 hours in a salon...it does take me a few hours to wash, condition, and rollerset, but I can also sit on my laptop while under the dryer like I am now! I really dont see any reason to go to a salon anymore unless I wanted a certain style for a special occasion and didnt know how to do it myself and even then Id probably practice until I got a similar look.

Re: Don't you think that spending 5 hours in a salon for a trim and wash is old schoo

Wow! THat is a long time just for a wash and trim. I remember those days back in high school when I would get my hair done. When you're only a high school kid and desperately need your hair done, you will wait. I think the longest I was stuck in a salon was about 4 hours. Now, I would leave. I am older and know better and time is more valuable now.
