I wanted jet black hair but I wanted to try a semi-perm before doing a perm color. Let me say thhat I was so not happy with this :wallbash:. I followed the directions and even left it on a bit longer. I rinsed it out and conditioned and it seems like I washed the damn color out of some spots! So my hair is brown in some spots and black every where else:wallbash::wallbash: Mind you I did this yesterday on my B-DAY:wallbash: I asked my husband if he couldtell that I died it and if it looked jet black and he was like:perplexed "uh no":lachen:Needless to say I am very ticked by this and I bought 3 bottles of this because it was buy 2 get 1 free at Sallys. While I am not happy about the color after I dried and blow dried my hair it was soft, shiney, and had mad swang and this morning when I took down my wrap I was like damn check out that swang:yep: So I have some questions for you ladies.

1. How soon can I re-apply this? I am relaxed but this has no peroxide etc.

2. Was I supposed to use shampoo or did I rinse out the dye?

3. What else will get my hair jet black would a color shine work? I would like to try bigen but i,m breastfeeding and the PPD is scaring me although it's in mos dyes and LLL says it safe to color your hair.

Any help is appreciated.

I use this all the time to refresh my color...works like a charm:lick:
Wash w/Elucence
Apply Color
Let it sit with a cap under the dryer for 45 mins
Rinse with Cool water for 3 mins
Apply Rinse out conditioner (to detangle)
Out of the shower I go.

Henna + indigo is all I can recommend in your condition. It's something of a pain, but you'll get the result w/o the PPD. Go search a henna thread for more info.

IThanks for the responses ladies let's see now as far as my steps go let me list them.

1. Shampoo with sauve clarifier
2. Towel dry
3. Apply dye
4. Sat around house for about 30 minutes with plastic cap on.
5. Sat under dryer for about 10 minutes
6. waited about 5-7 minutes then washed out dye using nexxus poo and conditioned with almond rinse and then PM supercharged.

Aidenberry03-
Did you sit under the dryer for 45 mins and also let it process out of the drer or just strictly under the dryer?

I've never shampooed my hair directly after applying a color rinse. I think you should have used a conditioning poo after the clarifier one or even a rinse out conditioner, then applied the color. If your hair is a little hard after rinsing the color, then apply a rinse out conditioner. Sometimes I even apply my color and conditioner together to save time. HTH

You shouldn't have shampooed after the dye. It strips the color. That's why they say they last 6- 12 washes, etc because the shampoo takes the color out.

When I came from under the dryer, I let it cool for about 5 minutes. DO NOT SHAMPOO again....:lachen: Just use a quick rinse out conditioner to detangle. If you rinse your hair until the water is clear...you wont have any color:look:. So just rinse it until its transparent.:yep:

I mix mine with my deep conditioner and leave it in for at least an hour without heat or about 30-40 minutes with heat. Then I blowdry and flatiron. Works like a charm.
