Don\'t play in my hair!

i need to vent again. I hope I am doing it on the appropriate board.

There is a caucasian lady in my choir class (she looks 35 but tells me she is 25) who always talks about my hats and scarves, saying that i look like a cancer patient with my gear on. I laugh it off all the time because her hair looks like she could use a conditioner wash or 2... or 3 or 4

She is always telling me to wear my hair down everyday (and i think to myself "ugh, why? so i can have hair like yours?"). Keep in mind that i have told this woman that I am trying to grow my hair and thats why i keep it protected. I have also told her that NO ONE (not even my momma or Mr. Charlie) touches my hair.

Anyhoo, Today I decided to wear my hair down in choir class. the

runs up to me and starts playing in my hair!

Well the Gansta of the LHCF hit her with my binder several times on the head and shoulder and screamed "Didn't I tell u not even my maw plays in my hair?"

I know i am an adult, and i am almost sorry for hitting her. But why can't people understand that i am tryin to grow some hair?!

People, please don't let people (including yourself) play in your hair... it'll be on the floor soon.

Sounds like she is really disrespecting you by first saying you look like a cancer patient (what if you really were a cancer patient!)with your scarves and hats on, then she touches your hair after what you told her. She shouldn't be playing in your hair even if you weren't trying to grow out your hair - it's part of your body and she didn't have permission to touch you! She definitely crossed the line.

I am truly truly feeling you on this girl. I don't want anyone putting bad vibes on my hair. I don't care ... don't touch my hair I'm not playing ... I am very leary of other women touching my hair now especially when they don't have any. I'm sorry. I know that just a minute ago I did not have any, but now I have lil something. I'm not a hater. I'm willing to put in the foot work to find out how to grow learn and care for my hair. I don't walk up to girlfriends and touch their breast or butt .... sooo DO NOT TOUCH MY HAIR!!!!

Ok I'm alright now whew is everybody alright?

I hope I stayed on the subject.

I don't blame you one bit anky.

I will never forget the time when a friend of mine was playing in this girl's 30 inch hair. My friend kept wrapping the comb around her hair...and I told her it would eventually get stuck if she kept doing it...and guess what? It got STUCK in her hair! The girl ended up having to CUT it out. NO ONE wants all of their hard work ruined. Keep the binder handy

I feel the same way, I do NOT like it when people touch my hair. And I tell them too. Why would you want to touch somebody's hair if you don't even know the person??? I don't get it.

Yep! I think my hair used to break off in the front all the time b/c I was constantly touching it, twisting it, and searching for split ends!

I do not like anyone to touch my hair now...not even me!

This past weekend, I caught my friend playing in her hair and I go "Don't touch it!" She laughed but heck, I was serious!

Whoa...Is the lady ok??? Yeah, I hate people messing with my hair. I get it all the time, like the other day I had my hiar up in a makeshift bun and this girl I know comes up to me and says you never to anything to your hair, let me flat iron it and goes to take my hair out

or I'll be wrapping it or moisturizing it and someone will walk by and rub it or grab it..then I have to let the project hoodrat in me come out...I've never been so violent since joining LCHF

I left a comb of mine over my chicken-headed friends house and my DH went out and bought me another one. He said "Ain't no tellin' what she did to your comb. Let her have it!!!" Am I converting him or what?!?!?!?

I had something similar happen to me except in a way it was worse because they were TOTAL STRANGERS. I was out at a birthday party at a club last December, and I had flat ironed my hair with my then newly purchased ceramic iron. You know how when you walk through a club and dudes will grab your arm as you are walking by? Well TWO different dudes had the effin' nerve to GRAB MY HAIR!!

I didn't say anything, I just extricated my self, but inside I'm fuming like WTF???!!

Update:I told the lady that I was sorry for hitting her. I also gave her some tips from this board. since she has curly, fried hair i reccomended conditioner washes and explained to her what protective styles were.
