Don't kill me. Another Maxiglide question.

I think this is like the 4th time I've asked a question about Maxiglide here but the thing costs 80.00 and I want to make sure I get ALL the facts before i hand over my hard-earned cash. I went to the Linens and things and picked up the box and read:

"Warning! Do not use steam action less than 3 inches from scalp!"
---> Okay i get that. But the reason i wanted to get the Maxiglide in the first place is to straigten my new growth a bit. If I can't get right down in there, what's the point of purchase?:ohwell:

Can it be used without the steam on the hair? If it can, would it be easier to scorch my hair?

Lastly: Is this thing totally, 100%-ly worth almost $100? Poor person on parade here.:(

LOL, I understand the concern since that is alot of cash for an appliance (thank goodness mine was a gift). But yes you can use it w/o the steam, I normally only use the steam on my ends. I think that it's worth it, but it really depends on how well it works for your hair and what your expectations are. If it doesn't work like you want it to you can always return it and get a refund, so keep your receipt and the box just incase. Then you can try something else out, just make sure you purchase from places that give refunds incase your not satisfied again, you won't have to worry. HTH's
