So I just caved in and spent $40 on some Dom. products. I figured it's time, I'm almost out of my Nexxus Emergencee, and my other deep conditioner tubs are about the run it's course, so after much browsing all over the place this is what I came up with to start out.

No poo's

I got:

Capilo Suela y canela rinse (Sole & Cinnamon rinse)

Toque Emergencia

Lacio Lacio

Sole & Cinnamon oil.

I'd probably use these prods in this order after poo'ing.

I want that shine, thickness, bounce, & strength these prods promise and when I receive them, I'll use them religiously for all my washes until they are through.

Did I do good?

I use Emergenica and Lacio Lacio. The jury is still out on the Emergencia since I've only used it once. But the Lacio Lacio leave in is a really good detangler and adds luster and shine to dry hair as well. I have not used the others.

Thanks, I'm so excited I can't hide it. Good to know the lacio lacio will add shine, I was trying to avoid purchasing the Silicon Mix, but I may just have to, to get that bling and perhaps to mix with the Emergencia, I may add some of the Sole & Cinnamon oil when I DC as well.

I think Silicon Mix is a 2-for-1 = moisturizing and protein

Agreed!

Anyhow, SvelteVelvet it looks like you did well. I heard great things about all the items you purchased. My personal faves on your list are Lacio Lacio and Emergencia. Any reason why you don't want to try the Silicon Mix?

This sounds like a good mix, girl:) And yes, get that Silicon Mix! It's the best!

Thx! I ordered the Silicon Mix last night from sickbay! :dance7: I can't wait to try it all when it comes in. I ordered all the other stuff from ibeautyny.com because they were the only site I could find everything I wanted to get. I went into a Dominican Salon to see if they had the Silicon Mix first because I really wanted to smell it cause I know there are mixed reviews on that, but all they had was this other brand that had rice in it and they didn't seem to be familiar with Riva's so I couldn't ask which is better, so I decided to bite the bullet and just order it. Can't wait to use all this stuff and see for myself what it can do.

I have these two and they are great
I also like Miss Key 10 en 1 it's good for moisture and protein- I pre-poo with it all the time. I love silicon mix for detangling when I'm >12 weeks post relaxer.
I just love domincan products :yep:

Thanks for answering!

I don't know really why I felt that way, I just felt a little apprehensive for some reason, I think it's a cross between reviews of the strong smell and feeling like maybe I don't necessarily need it. Also I couldn't find a liable explanation for what it treated in the hair, protein? moisture? both? After I placed the order already, I found a Dom. ingredient and what they do list, and it explained the Silicone was for shine so then I ordered it with the quickness.

Your welcome :).

Anyhow, I'll be honest it has a strong perfumey smell but it smells soo good..lol. It took awhile for me to adjust to it but now I'm indifferent to it. I love, love, love Silicon Mix! It has the perfect balance for moisture and protein and the slip is incredible. I hope you like it :)!

If you ever decide to try any other dominican products, Miss Key Super Conditioner 10 en 1 is excellent as stated by another poster. That's another one that has a great balance for softness and strength for the hair.

Thanks, I contemplated over the Miss Key's 10 en 1 and all the other 50-11 en 1's they have. I know I will end up ordering it in the future because I found that condish recipe mixing that, Silicon, and Emergencia that sounds like it'll be good.

In my web travels on info on Dom products I came across one where this woman has tried everything under the DR sun and there's just pages and pages of her reviewing them, using them on herself, and her grandkids, her name is toomanygrandkids. I think she's on LHCF too, such a wealth of info!

Hopefully I'll love it and if I do and it last for days then that'll just be another plus, then I'll have to go on and order that Silicon Leave-in and 10 en 1 will be comin along with it.

I use Dominican conditioners but have never used the ones you mentioned. I swear by Sedal's Anti-Sponge conditioner, Sedal's Ceramidas leave in conditioner, and Lafier's Proteinol conditioner. They are great for my hair. My hair has FLOURISHED since I started using them about 6 months ago. Until they stop working wonders for our hair, I will ALWAYS promote dominican conditioners!:D

hmmm...You all got me wanting to try the Silicon Mix conditioner now! I notice a lot of Dominican hair care lines have these things called rinses. I'm thinking how good a product can it be if you put it on your hair, comb it through, and then rinse it out and it's only been on your hair for like 5 minutes? Can anyone explain the benefits of them?

I would love to read her reviews, do you have a link?

From what I've read of the rinses, you use it either after you shampoo before your DC and some people use it after the DC, it's suppose to be a detangler, provide more slip and enhance whatever deep conditioning treatment you use.

Thanks for explaining that. That helps me understand sooo much better! I may have to try one and see how I like it. :D

No prob. The rinses in their hair care practices is what made me say "Oh so that's what's so special" besides of course the natural prods. animal proteins and such. Sounds very beneficial too.

You did good with the lacio lacio. Silicon to me smells like baby powder which I love. I have the shampoo but I plan on getting the conditioner, rinse and leave in soon. My SO has the the Silicon leave in for his "spinnas" and it looks like it is working good for him.

Thanks for that link! Off to read the reviews!

Thanks! That's a description I've never read before, I love baby powder! How is the Silicon Poo? I was thinking if I get any of their poo's I'd get that one. Didn't realize they had a rinse as well. I'm planning on purchasing the leave-in really soon. All four products should work lovely together, I'm dying to try that.

I *heart* the poo! I don't get that dry feeling that I get with other poos. You that feeling you get, like your hair is going to SNAP? This is very moisturizing. I even got my mom to love it. Since she is gray, she only uses items that are clear or white so Silicon is perfect for her. You will love it!

Would anyone know if the Parital silk worm better than the silicon mix?? I'm planning on ordering my first dominican products this week and am still trying to decide on what exactly to get.

Also, Lacio Lacio is a rinse right??

:perplexed Pls help me with my list.

Here's my hair's present condition:

I have breakage and alot of shedding. (It started not long after getting off of msm.) I was transitioning from bone straight to texlax but decided today after washing it again and coming out of the shower looking like Bob Marley that I can't handle transitioning right now. So as soon as I can get a hold of Balisi, this stuff is getting relaxed straight again. What's left of it anyway:( :)

No, Lacio Lacio is a leave-in conditioner

-Capilo Suela y Canela (sole and cinnamon) conditioner and rinse are supposed to be good for shedding as it tightens the scalp.
-I'd also recommend Miss Key Super Conditioner 10 en 1, Silicon Mix, Toque Emergencia, Nacidit or Capilo Avocado Conditioner, Nacidit Olive Oil Conditioner and Sabila/Aloe Vera Conditioner (any brand although I have the Tropical Aloe Vera conditioner).
-But if I was to narrow down to the top 3 I would do the 10 en 1, Silicon Mix and Emergencia. Also, You can also add other natural products such as avocado, olive oil, honey, etc to reap the benefits(such as extra moisture) without having to purchase the actual conditioner. Personally, I always add olive oil and/or honey to my conditioners for additional moisture.

I would also recommend that you check out Roundbrushhair.com as it has a section that links you to particular products based on your hair problem and you can place your order accordingly if you so desire. http://www.roundbrushhair.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=7

Anyhow, I hope that helps.

Thanks that'll definately be in the next order!

I got everything except my Silicon mix yesterday, so unexpectedly, I just placed the order on Friday, ibeautyny is the ish! Preparing to wait till at least the middle or end of next week to use the stuff, I set my hair in a twist-out Sunday that's still going strong but I was itching to try the products. So I turned my moms living room into a salon and did my niece and my moms hair with it, told them they'll be my guinea pigs. I did a rollerset then flat iron on my niece, and with my mom put it in a wrap then flat ironed. OMG, their hair was sooo soft, shiny, bouncy, and beautiful. I used everything on them and my mom was so impressed she's ordering some of everything for her and my niece. As I was doing their hair I was giving them tips, I felt like real hairdresser. And it felt so good and since my mom and is getting her and my niece their own supply I told them I'll treat them every 2 weeks. I'll probably do their's all on the same day I do mine, it was very fun. Now I can't wait to do mine Thursday night.
