I went to a salon and saw this being done? Is this method suppose to be better than a regular plastic cap?

I don't think it matters what type of plastic is used. I don't do deep treatments, but I guess the goal is to help the product penetrate. Any malleable plastic should trap heat and probably will not react with the product's chemicals. hth.

i don't know that it is better but maybe it is cheaper. I use plastic bags left over from groceries and make it into a bun in the back.

I've done saran wrap and a regular plastic cap and I really can't tell a difference except that the trusty plastic cap is much easier!

Yep! Sure do! I actually like it better than the regular plastic caps because I can make it kind of tight and I think it holds in the heat better. JMO
