Serenity, I bought it at the local BSS store. SALLYs may have it, not sure.
The product is by FANTASIA; {same company as the gel so many use} in a big white bottle, dark brown front with a BIG ic in white on an orange background. 32 ounces cost me $9.99.

I wouldn't go so far as to call the women who will try/have tried or are currently using product specifically marketed towards animals desperate. Some people just like to experiment with new things:)

YEP- what you said!

Will it make the hair hard? Is it a harsh protein?

(I PM'd you just in case you didn't return to this thread.)

Thanks again!

Haven't read all responses, but my concern is the pH levels.

Dog owners are recommended to NOT use their personal shampoos on their pooch's coats, because the pH level is different, and can be drying to their skin. I never knew this, sorry Sammy (my doggie back home).

Therefore perhaps the dog formulas are not pH healthy for OUR hair?

The ic does make my hair harder but I add some Salerm and or Nexxus leave-in and everything is soft again. The ic also imparts a shiney slickness which is not sticky. I use it mostly on my parted hair along my roots. I use it wet hair and dry. Growth? I do not really know but it does not damage my hair. First time usage was post touch-up as extra insurance to normalize my scalp.

Oh wow, I did this ALL the time too. I just couldn't tolerate the doggy smell of his shampoo. His stuff dried him out more than mine did! My Pantene and Herbal Essences used to have him so clean, shiny, and so fluffy. Ahhh I miss him :crying3:

Nope..It's just that most human shampoos are HARSHER than most dog versions because our skin is thicker. Most human shampoos dry out dog hair coats quickly. Most dog shampoos are very gentle. PH levels are usually identical depending on the formulation.

Maybe I was using a cheap flea shampoo then because that stuff stripped my poor baby good!

I would not do it. I mean there are enough product lines for us out there. I really don't see the need to use a shampoo created for animals.
