DOES YUR HAIR [take a thousand yrs. to ] DRY ?

I'm just wondering.... if anyones else's hair takes forever to dry. completely. i mean the entire head root to tip.

idn if its a natural thing but, i wash my hair, condition, put a some ECO styler olive oil gel in my hair, style, && at the end of the day my hairs still wet.

next day. most of my hair is dry. but in the middle && scalp. my hairs STILL wet.

is it because its thick ? its anoyinggg.

Well how do you style it, the style is probably what takes it forever to dry, as well as length/thickness.

it dosn't matter. if i have my hair out or up. i can understand if on the days i wet bun. but even the days that i have my hair mostly out. its still damp or wet. but never completely dry.

My hair dries a lot quicker smoother when I have it in a few plaits, than when I tie it back into a bun or ponytail.

If my hair is loose and drying, it's dry in what seems like 30 mintues. Rollersets seem to take forever.

I voted yes, but it only takes for ever if it isn't dried loose.

If I let my hair "try" to dry up in a pony tail or bun, everything that isn't directly touching the air takes FOREVER to dry.
I'm natural, at the top of my bra strap right now.

Yes. My hair takes over 24 hours to airdry relaxed or natural. I bought a Pibbs because I can sit under a cheaper tabletop dryer for 3 hours and still have wet hair.

I wanted to cornrow my hair yesterday after dcing and I sat under the dryer for 1hr 20min because otherwise I would have waited 1 1/2dys until my hair airdried. AND MY HAIR WAS STILL VERY DAMP

I've come to realize that whenever I'm air-drying my hair is big sections like braids for a braid-out....I'm asking for a long drawn out drying time....but when I have my hair in pixie braids or mini twists like I have in my hair now my hair only takes like an hr or two to air dry.....so its all about the size of the sections.

My hair takes a long time to dry, usually a whole day, because of the styles I choose and the fact that I airdry 99% of the time. I never let it airdry loose. That's asking for lots of trouble.

My hair takes about 10 hours to dry completely, but since I started using oils, that amount has been reduced a bit. My hair is still short, so that may change next year.

Yes. My hair is very dense, so I don't get much airflow. It dries faster when I do small twists or braids, sans extensions.

I agree. I used to have really long drying times when I made fat sections. Now I towel dry first w/a microfiber towel. Then place my hair in med sized braids. AFTer that I wrap my hair in a twistie turbie towel to continue soaking up the water. My hairs is pretty dry in about 3 hours, not bone dry but only slightly damp.

ETA: When my hair porosity is off it will also take longer to dry.

Loose or tied up, gel or no gel. ( obviously longer with gel) my texlaxed hair takes about 2 full days to dry COMPLETELY.

When i use the blow dryer it'll take the whole day.

Even when i blow dry straight in the winter, it takes me 3 hrs.

In some areas more so that others,for some reason.
I co washed today about 11am,and my hair is still sopping wet in the middle of my ponytail. The only dry area is the top of my headerplexed
Everywhere else is either damp,or dripping wet if i take my pony down.
I am natural as well.

OMG YES! I airdry mostly and I will wash my hair at 7pm and its still wet by 8am! Its the worst.

I read somewhere that if your hair takes long to dry, thats a GOOD thing! It means your hair is not overly porous and can retain moisture better.

Anyway, my hair also takes forever to dry. Loose it takes about half a day. In a bun with a scarf on it takes a full day.

It definitely takes my hair forever to dry. I think because I have a lot of hair. I avoid roller sets because I absolutely hate sitting under the dryer!

If I airdry using the scarf method allowing my ends to hand loose it takes my hair about 6 to 8 hours to completely dry! If I airdry in a ponytail or with my hair pinned up it will take 16 to 24 hours to dry completely. Rollersetting under my at home bonnet dryer takes about 2 hours, salon dryer 1 hour.
