I find myself always feeling my newgrowth....not that it has changed since yesterday...but it is a habit. I don't know if it is based on hair texture or its just a coinkydink but the hair that is more 3c/4a has grown a significant amount since the last relaxers but the hair that is 4b near my ears....there is hardly any newgrowth.

I'm just starting out so maybe that hair just needed moisture more than the others.

isnt type 4b tighter than 3c/4a? you might just have more shrinkage in that 4b area.

i agree with what poohbear said, also not all of your hair is in the growing phase all the time, so there may be some parts that grow in slower b/c its "resting".

My hair grows faster in the back than in the front and im mostly 4a in the front the rest is a 3c....

but i think when my hair gets longer im going to end up having some odd layers or one of those u or v shaped tails....

I think that my hair grows at the same rate however because I have 3 different textures, it feels like my crown (very thick/course 4a) is growing faster but it reality it's not.

I know that the top part (crown?) of my head grows way faster than the sides and it is a rougher texture.

Well I talked to my mom and she has 3b/c hair, and she said her sides never grow as long as the rest either.....so I'm guessing its just genetics.

My bangs. They grow like weed. I haven't cut them in a very long time so now they come to the center of my chest. Boy, if the rest of my hair grew like them I'd be looking like Lady Godiva right about now.

I agree with Poohbear I have the same problem, the hair in my nape area is mor of a type 4 texture while the rest is a 3/c. So the back appears shorter that the rest if my hair. So after it is blow dried it looks like my ends are thin, but its because the hair in the back doens't get as straight as the rest of my hair. So I just try to keep the ends curly, I'm trying to see if I can press my hair less often and just blowdry to straighten. Its going good except for the issue with the hair in the back.

I agree with your statement in general...but I'm not going by appearance. I'm actually looking at the amount of newgrowth and feeling it....its just not remotely close.

It used to be that the back (tighter 4a curl) of my hair grew the fastest. Now the crown and the front (looser 4a) are growing faster and the back is hardly moving. I think that my hair is trying to grow itself out of layers.

The hair on my front and right side grows faster than the back and left...I wonder if this is because I sleep on my left side
