Hey guys, after reading the board, I decided I would try an ACV rinse. I sent my dad to the store...he brought back a bottle that doesnt say organic or with the mother or anything else you ladies said it should say. Do you think it'll hurt to give it a try?
I don't think it'll hurt. I personally use the Safeway brand only coz I'm cheap.
When I first heard of ACV rinses, no specific brand was recommended so I just picked the first I came across and it's worked well. I've never tried any of the organic ones so I don't know what I'm missing. But I do know I haven't had problems with just any ol' ACV.
From what I found out about the "mother" it's a cobweb-y appearance that is characteristic of unrefined ACV which still has all the nutritional qualities that the refined doesn't. I can see how that's beneficial to your body for internal consumption but I don't quite follow how that's important for external use, specifically hair use...unless the "nutrients" in the unrefined are beneficial to hair too. I use ACV for its acidity rather than its nutrients, but I might be convinced to switch to unrefined ACV with "the mother" if I could learn more about what "mother" will do for my hair. I am usually the first to swear unrefined anything is better than refined, but I just want to learn more before I take the trouble to seek out the unrefined.
