Does room temperature matter in the winter when washing hair?

I washed my hair tonight and the house was more on the cool side. When I was trying to detangle my hair after washing, it felt hard to comb. It seemed as if my hair was turning hard, geling or freezing on me. I turned the heat up, but I think it was too late. Do you think room temperature matters when washing your hair, especially in the winter?

i think it matters when drying. my hair takes longer to dry when i'm at my mom's, wheras my dorm room is always blazing.

I've found that humidity matters anytime for me when I'm washing my hair. I leave a window cracked while washing because if it gets too steamed up in the bathroom, the outcome of my hair is very different. It doesn't tangle or anything, it seems to get poufy ahead of time so my airdrying results are bushier than it should be. :antlers:

I don't know, I just always turn the heat on or open the oven when I wash my hair so that I don't get sick from washing my hair in the cold.

I think temp does matter. I usually work out in the morning and my hair gets moist from the perspiration. I then come home to shower and dress for work. In the summer detangling is no problem, whereas in the winter, either my hair has dried hard by the time I get home or, if it's still damp, it feels stiff and I seem to experience breakage when trying to style.
