bumping!! i'd like to know too. i also trim because my ends are dry or brittle not necessarily because i have split ends. i don't think dry, brittle hair is healthly but the rest of my hair seems to be fairly healthly. it's primarily just the ends that need attention. maybe i'm just not babying them enough?

My first thought was... yes but...
I think I have to go with No.

Even if a person were able to have no split ends or splits up the shaft, they could still be heavily overloaded with protein and experience severe breakage. which to me would mean that their hair is not healthy.

Even if a person were able to have no split ends or splits up the shaft, they could still be overly moisturized with mushy hair and experience severe breakage. which to me would mean that their hair is not healthy.

I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks.

Healthy hair means little/no splits

Little/no splits doesn't necessarily mean healthy hair.

Split ends is just one aspect of hair health
