i'm curious. for those ladies out there who's tried them all. what are the brands that give the best results out there?

yes because the cheaper stuff doesnt have the same pontency ... gotta be careful just because its cheap doesnt make it better!

Yes, the type of vitamin does make a difference...My doctor told me to take a vitamin & drop it in a glass of room temperature water. Wait about 60-70 minutes. Whatever has dissolved is the amount your body is really getting. Many of the cheaper brands have low grade binders, fillers & preservatives that prevent the actual vitamins from being dissolved...He recommended capsules & softgels as much as possible. He also told me to stay away from chewable vitamin C, it erodes the enamel on your teeth..HTH luv, DIVA

Yup everything she said :) But walmart brand biotin worked wonders for my hair! You just have to test what works for you.

I am guilty of buying what's on sale. Walmart & target..especially target always have vitamins on sale.

I have several bottles of vitamin c, e, biotin, b complex, b12, fish oil that are Nature made's brand that I got for $1 at Target...big bottles too. They don't expire until 2008 2009, so I'm good to go for awhile. Check those endcaps by the pharmacy at Target....

and I think as long as I"m getting the recommended daily value/allowance or more of a vitamin, I'm good. I don't take my vitamins all at once (something about it slows absorption?) and I drink LOTS Of water when taking them

i don't know about brands yet but i find the capsules to be more potent

Brands i use:
florasil-capsules (silica)
gnc (hair skin nails)not capsules but my nails are growing
NOW -capsules (biotin)

i also increased my intake of water

I'm not sure...I buy my biotin at Wal*Mart and it's the best I've tried. Everything else, I get the generic brand at the local health food store and they are working great.

Thanks for the tip!! I am definitely trying that with my current vitamins.

I don't know about the best brand, but the best vitamins are derived from whole foods as opposed to synthetics.

Ditto. I read somewhere that you are better off with natural vits than synthetic because the synthetic ones don't do much. I haven't the slightest idea what I have, I picked them up at this health food store called Clark's. I'm hoping I'm good with them. The only capsules I have are the biotin. And the amino acid and B5 are regular pills. I think I did okay for getting them from a health food store.

i don't know if mine are synthetic either. i got some from walmart (Rexall brand Biotin) and cvs (nature's bounty). they're 5000 mcg capsules and 1000 mcg pills respectively. so far so good. what about puritan pride? is it really more potent than the drugstore stuff?
