Either A Blessing Or A Lesson.
Sorry, folks I tried to search the big henna thread for this and nothing came up.

Anybody have any issues with Henna staining the tub? I just bought a new tub and will be HOT if it's dingy after using henna.

TIA.

make sure you clean up right after you rinse the henna out.

JCoily, all you gotta do is clean the tub afterward, it didn't stain mine at all. :)
My bathroom rug on the other hand...:( Forgot to remove it once and that was the day I dropped henna and indigo all over it.

Usually I cover everything in plastic bags, but I was in a hurry that day...and it was like a duck pooped all over the bathroom, the stuff was everywhere! I learned my lesson! :lachen:

What is henna exactly??

It is basically a plant from India that is ground up into powder form and when mixed w/water, oils, acv, etc, & applied to the hair, conditions, thickens, and even adds hilites (& covers grays) naturally.

I was so afraid of staining that I was rinsing in the sink:look: Then I used the tub and the mud wasn't red! I've not had any problems with staining- I've even rinsed out my gloves in the bathroom sink without problems.

I haven't really had a problem with staining yet, but I would wash it out RIGHT away.

My towels are a hot mess. No amount of detergent has washed it out.

Me either. For towels, the only thing I use the same one over and over, so I dont mess up the others

I do not use towels anymore. I got a hair dresser's apron (not sure if that is what it is called) and just wipe it off or wash it if I am in the mood. The henna was staining too many of my good towels so the apron works extremely well for me. When I rinse out the henna properly, there is nothing left to stain my towel when I dry my hair.

I got one of the plastics draperies hair dressers use to drape patrons for the same purpose. It is working rather well.

That happened to me too, maybe we can put some bleach on it/clorine? My bath room is newly renovated, I don't want it to look bad this soon after the reconstruction...

Mystic your hair is GAWGEOUS!

Another question about Henna, after mixing it do you cover it up or leave it exposed to the air?

Cover it up otherwise it will start to dry out (kind of like mudd would).

Henna does stain the grout and tile in the bath, I use a water/bleach mix and mist when I'm done rinsing my hair. I allow the mixture to 'sit' for a few minutes before I rinse, it always brightens up very nicely.

Not really... but make sure you spray the bath with some kind of bathroom cleaner beforehand, as it makes it easier to rinse away the henna from the bath
