Does everyone always accurately measure their concoctions/mixes?

I used to try to figure out 1 part this to 3 parts that, but for the past few months I just go with it. I don't know if it's just being lazy or what but I know what I want the mixture to look/smell like so I just pour until I get it. If I try something new, I just pour it in. Is anyone else like this? For instance, later today I'm going to DC with ORS, glycerin, and carrot oil and really have no idea how much glycerin and carrot oil I'm going to mix, I'm just going to roll with it.

I just add dollops until I'm content, lol. I've never measured. I just squirt it in the bowl until I think there's enough, then pick up the next bottle and squirt, then pick up the EVOO and pour til I think there's enough to get the consistency I want.
There's something to be said for measuring as far as getting the same results (maybe there's too much/less of one product if you just shoot from the hip each time), but the only recipe that I use with any consistency is Nexxus Keraphix, Nexxus Humectress, and EVOO and that always works even if there's more or less of one or the other.
Interesting thread...

If I mix a few oils in my conditioner, I only use about 1 tsp. each. If I mix only one oil in with my conditioner I use 1-2 tablesp. I like my dc to stay creamy not runny. Just mix the oil in alittle at a time stirring until you get the consistensy (sp?) you want. You know like old fashioned cooks use to do except they never measured. That use to drive me crazy when I was learning to cook (asking older ppl how much of this or that they never seem to know but their great cooks!) :)

My mom is the same way, on certain food recipes she does NOT measure, she just knows how it's supposed to be!

Usually when I mix conditioners I mix them hands and smooth on my hair or shake it up in a spray bottle with water(for my sew-in).

I took my sew-in out last night and I want to DC. Since I'm off from work today(extra time).......I decided to mix in a bowl. I mixed 10 en 1, Silicon mix, Capilo milk&honey, evoo(1st time try,) and honey(1st time try) and set the bowl aside for tonight. I pre made my ACV rinse(1st time try). Also I'm going to try Burt's Bees Avocado treatment. I really want to treat my hair nice!!
