Does Creme of Nature leave a residue on your scalp?

Oh nooooooo :wallbash:

I was JUST raving about their shampoo and how good it works and how I was so glad I had "rediscovered" it! :perplexed

Don't tell me I'm going to have to replace it....:nono:
You can still use CoN - you can't beat it for detangling. Just use a different shampoo like every third wash or so or use a baking soda scrub on the scalp and CoN on the length of the hair only.

Creme of Nature shampoo is famous for leaving that infamous residue (over time) on the hair and scalp. A good clarifying shampoo will take care of that.

ITA!... I only use CON in rotation with my other shampoos... I also don't follow with a rinse out conditioner since it has a conditioner in it.(instead I will apply a spray leave-in afterwards). The residue is due to the conditioning agents that are in shampoo. But clarifying will take care of that build up. I for one like Creme of Nature (green label) because of the moisturizing properties. But I don't use it all the time either.. just when I feel my hair needs this shampoo/conditioner 2-in 1 combo!

I love CON but I had to stop using it because of the Milk Protein or something or other that's in it. I'm lactose intolerant and I truly believe that my scalp had all this flaky build up because of that particular ingredient. I stopped using it and "poof" a clean, flake free scalp. I still have to work to combat dryness, but I do that internally by taking fish oil and drinking tons of water.

Yes but I don't use it that often to get too much of a buildup. But I still love that stuff. Everytime I smell it, it reminds me of being in NY and going to the dominican salons. Q

Yes, I use it and it does leave a buildup..that is why I'm all about switching up shampoos with every wash. I use my Aveda poos (Sap Moss, Shampure, DR), CON and Elucence MB. I also clarify once per month no matter which poo I use.:yep:

Seems like most of us use CON in addition to at least one other shampoo. This made me realize that I don't really use CON for cleansing but for moisture, that's it. So If I really want it clean I use something else, then use CON. But I'm finding that ,usually, I don't want my hair really clean anyway, especially in the winter, it's too drying for my hair.

it did for me and thats why i stopped using it. Design essentials moisturizing poo is sooo much better, i get superior softness, my hair is detangled and its never weighed down.

I was getting worried that I might need to stop using my CON shampoo because of this buildup situation. I was "especially" worried, seeing as though I JUST bought a HUGE bottle of the poo/con combo from Sally's last week!

I have found myself scratching at my scalp much more than usual, which isn't normal for me. And when I wash my hair, my tub is full of "grime" afterwards :nono: So I think that I will do what it seems like most everyone else using CON shampoo is doing--switching it up with another shampoo. So I will be taking a trip to the Aveda salon verrry soon. :drunk: Hopefully the PJ in me doesn't come out since I LOVE ME SOME AVEDA  Until I make it there I will be using my Aveda Detoxifier shampoo before washing with my CON, and make sure to rinse it verrrry well.

Also, thanks to the person that suggested applying it only to the hair...I am very bad about that! I usually pour a bunch of shampoo into my palm, and dump it right on my scalp, and then massage it into my scalp AND hair :spinning: I'm going to try to do better at that...
