Does anyone still use Argan oil in their hair?

I am just way curious as I now buy Pure Argan Oil for my skin and was like erplexed uh uh, not using this on my hair. I did go ahead and put one pump in my hair and didn't notice anything, yet I know I need way more than that little spit..


Just curious as to anyone who does use it and how do you use it??

I sometimes use it when I do a tight bun or a wash n go. I find it to be very moisturising which results in waves for my bun and very defined curls for my wash n go. I do not like it for my skin.

VivaMac - May I ask why you don't like it on your skin? Did you find it too greasy?

I put it in my leave-in mix. It has never done much for me but add shine. It has the abilty to lighten hair too when used regularly.

I might remove it from my mix altogether. It's too expensive and I can use any oil for shine.

I wasn't crazy about it either. Jojoba or almond are better, imho, and much more accessible. Speaking of oils, there's a Somali product that a hairdresser makes but she's located in Kenya...boo hoo. But she has a tutorial on YT and I want that oil so badly. Oh, I could probably make it at home but I still want to buy it. Hair Junkie speaking inside of me. Argan ain't all that.

I never got into putting it on my hair so much because it is expensive and didn't do anything extraordinary. I use it more on my cuticles and hands before going to bed.

I have combination skin, and now that I am older I finder that the once normal parts of my skin has a tendency to be dry. That being said, it dries out the normal to dry area of my skin and over moisturises the other areas. Resulting in shiny forehead and dry cheeks. No balance.

I use this as part of my night time face. I really do like it for my face and neck and while it is a little greasy going on it quickly melts into my skin.

Thanks for responding. I have combination skin too and was about to incorporate argan oil in my face oil. I'll stay away from it.

I have used it briefly, and find that it makes my hair hard and stiff...kinda like coconut oil does for some ladies. I use mainly macadamia, coconut, Ayurvedic/Indian, and sesame oils on my hair. Sesame oil seems to be the best...it isnt too heavy but leaves a nice sheen. Argan oil is too pricey for me to use regularly on all this hair. For a 4oz bottle of argan I can get a 16 oz bottle of sesame. I reserve it for dry areas of my skin. Rarely use it.

Yes! I use it (Pure) from time to time. Marie Dean also has a nice Argan Oil Blend that I like as well.

I'm trying to use mine up. I didn't notice a difference either and it's way too expensive compared to other light oils.

Yes I love Argan Oil. Nearly all my products have that as an ingredient.

I love argan oil I use a little on my ends when I have my hair flat ironed which is about four times a year. I find it to be a very light oil that does not weigh my hair down. I don't think I would not necessarily use this oil for my face or skin because it does have a non oily texture to me which some might otherwise describe as drying but its perfect for adding shine and for slight lubrication of my ends when I have my hair flat ironed.

I do... The plain oils I use:

Argan Oil
Maracuja Oil
Jojoba Oil
Vitamin E Oil
Grapeseed Oil*
Black Castor Oil

*I use the most aside from my growth oils

I used to use it, I like the shine on my hair but it ends up drying it up unless I have it freshly moisturized and it dries out my skin completely regardless of previous moisture, then blocks out incoming moisture

I still use argan oil (Camden Gray). It feels wonderful on my relaxed hair and absorbs easily. For my face I found Camellia seed oil to work best.
