I was wondering for anyone that blow dries, flat irons, rollersets, or wet wraps (any way that you get your hair straight) do you just moisturize with oil or do you mix a large portion of oil with your regular water based moisturizer. Would this still cause your hair to revert? I ask because this morning after I tried my wet wrap (pretty disastrous by the way

I put on some of my s curl. Just a small portion and I noticed that my hair was still straight. So is it ok to use a small portion of regular moisturizer on flat ironed, roller set.....hair? I really need the moisture that these provide. Oil just seals.

I don't like water based dressing on blow-dried hair not only because of reversion, but because they tend to leave gunk and hair clumpy. The less you put on your hair, the longer your blowout stays fresh. I like light pure natural oils that absorb quickly but still leave a gloss, like jojoba oil.

If you need moisture, you should be putting it in before you flat iron/blow dry. Make sure you deep condition with heat before hand.

In the morning, I use about a nickel size of water based moisturizer with a quarter size of jojoba oil. I put it on, then either re-wrap my hair or re-curl with about four rollers and put my scarf back on. By the time I get dressed most of the water has been absorbed.

At night, I use a lot more moisturizer but I imediately wrap or roller the ends and put it in a scarf.

That's about it . . .

Wow I love this board you learn a whole lot more, I know this is off the subject but dang this is great.
