I know I do!

I've been wearing buns daily and have stayed away from heat for over a year now. I like doing the challanges here on this forum they have really helped my hair out tremendously, but sometimes when I see the ladies on the street or at church with their hair done looking good sometimes I think "I wish it was me." Not that I don't think that what I'm doing is wrong by no means, I just miss wearing it down fresh from the shop.

How about you guys? :)

I don't see why not, If you have the erge to have you hair done and have a stylist that you trust to do what you want not what they want to do with your hair..
I say go for it...

I do too....
But I'm waiting until end of Summer before I hit the salons again... I figure that by then my hair should really be strong & healthy! :D

I also miss getting my hair done. But...I do not miss the hours spent waiting to get my hair done, the rough handling or the funky attitudes.

If I could find a good stylist, I would go occasionally to get updos, spiral curls, etc. (no chemicals). But until then I will just keep on bunning and growing.

I miss having someone else wash my hair and rollerset it.:ohwell:

I guess I could always go and get a wash and set, but I always have to restyle it because they always comb the hair into some kind of granny hairstyle:lol: and then I end up taking the comb and combing myself (that's what I'm paying them for right).

When I used to get touch-ups with them I mostly always had burns and then I'd have to slather the area with lots of vaseline (I mos def don't miss that). Now when my hair is tingling I wash it out....no arguing with somebody telling me "it's not done yet"

i agree with ya whole heartly.

Hey Cinna,

I also miss getting it done. :) But I always think of these factors:

1) Having to wait a very looooong time (under the Dryer) :look:
2) The money that is spent :dollar:
3) The hair stylist attitude

I wear my hair in a ballet bun 99% of the time. When I want to wear it out I may go to the Domincan Salon then let them blow the roots only and wear it down.

I feel the same way... ITA. You ladies have helped me so much. But I really would like to find a stylist who can help my hair look its best. It's already nice and healthy but I miss having someone else do my hair. It is a lot of work.

I haven't been to a hairdresser since Aug 2004...

I miss having a stylist I can trust! This is when I loved having my hair done. I only go now to have a touch up or braids. I'm very particular about my hair and I hate paying $$$ to have someone do a terrible job. That's just me.

The girl who braids my hair is EXCELLENT but expensive. Worth every penny to have a beautiful braided style.

There's nothing wrong with you going to get your hair done if you want. As long as you are happy when you leave the chair.

I guess I'm the only way the feels the opposite way. I don't miss the salon at all!!! My hair has grown longer than it ever has. I haven't up dated my siggy, but my hair is now almost bra strap. My hair had never grown to be longer than 2-3 inches past shoulder length and I attribute all my success to learning how to take care of my own hair and eliminating sissor happy stylist. I absolutely love 3/4 wigs, so when I want to be cute I throw me one on and go do what I gotta do.

I miss getting my hair done, but i refuse to wait forever to get it done. Last time it was done for a prom in 2000. My appointment was at 9 am, stylist didn't get there until 11am. I had 2 people ahead of me. She decided to put me under the dryer and leave me. When it got to be my turn, she tried to say my hair wasn't dry. I said yeah right, could you do my hair, I have a prom to get to. She did it. I never been back to a hair salon since. I basically miss getting my hair washed. I just have my husband wash it , he does a great job. It is so relaxing.

I really don't miss it... I hadn't been consistent with going to the salon in a while anyway. Besides my hairdresser and I kinda had disagreement. He didn't do anything bad to my hair-though. It'll be a while before I trust somebody with my hair again.

I sure do miss it. I haven't been since 1997. I moved and I haven't found a stylist that can do my hair as good as my former stylist...Kevin. The boy knows how to do some hair.

I miss going somewhere to have my hair done. But I've never had someone who knew my hair. I only get braids done now. I figure one day I'll open up my own salon that caters to women with my hair needs.

No, I don't miss getting it done. I have been protective styling for a while now, and I too have not used any heat for about a year and a half. I don't miss it, because I always had a stylist who trimmed too much, or rushed with my hair, and I ended up having to redo it at home.
