Beauty IS skin deep.
I heard that DHT was a male hormone that causes hair loss and things of that nature. I was told that women have a certain amount of this hormone in their bodies and that it can also cause hair loss in women too. Does anyone know about this? I'm thinking that's what those products like Rogaine and Scalp Med are for (kinda like anti-DHT meds)?

I was thinking maybe if there was a product for women that contained anti-DHT supplements, it could actually help the hair grow? I mean, like something a little less potent than Rogaine or Scalp Med. I'm guessing it would be something you could use on a daily basis.

I know I'm just rambling, I just had some thoughts and was just curious about this.

true, saw palmetto oil is supposed to be a natural DHT blocker. You can rub it on the scalp or take saw palmetto oil supplements. Just google it.

Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is active form of the testosteronehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hormonehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testosterone. It is suspected that DHT is the primary contributing factor in most cases of male-patter baldness. Women with more than normal DHT may develop certain male secondary sex characteristics but I haven't heard anything about baldness.

I'm going to do some more research on this in the morning. I knew saw palmetto was like a male enhancement supplement (kinda like an aphrodisiac), but I've also heard of it being beneficial in some ways for women as well. I'll do more research on it though. Thanks for the replies everyone.

I read a study about the use of 'azole meds (like MN, etc). The scientist were trying to figure out HOW it makes hair grow faster or stimulate hair growth in those that have hair loss. They think it is a DHT blocker.

I posted a link to that study and one other one mentioning DHT once, I remember. I tried MN on my scalp and was amazed that it made my hair grow do much faster. I just had to do some research and found those mentioned on a hair loss site for men.
