Does anyone in your family member grew hair long without trying

My mother, my daugther, my mother's cousins on her father's side.

my hair was always long w/o any effort on my part, i'm just concerned about health now, because i know for a fact my hair can and will be "long" again.

Me and my Mom. We've both always had nice lengths without trying too hard. She got hers cut short a couple years ago because she said she didn't want to be bothered anymore. Me on the other hand, I'm past bra-strap and on my way to waist length. HOLLA!

My mother when she was young. Now she cannot grow her hair below her shoulders. Everyone else has short hair by choice so I don't know!
My hair has always been able to grow to about bra strap without any real effort. Of course, I've taken good care of my hair most of the time too.

I notice lots of you saying that your Mom had long hair when she was younger and is having trouble growing it now. The same thing happened to my Mom. As soon as she got in her 50's, her hair started getting thinner and breaking more. It was a combination of medications she was taking and just plain getting older. Hair and body is not the same once you get past a certain age.
