Does anyone else here use a heat cap for deep conditioning?

I have an old one from 10 plus years ago. It works great, so I use it for Deep conditioning...

I mostly use my trusty old Gold n' Hot heat cap for long deep conditioning sessions -- when I want to watch a movie or something and don't want to deal with the noise from my hard bonnet dryer.

I have been trying to find a good one. I'm deployed right now, and I can't exactly pack a hard bonnet in my duffle bag. Does anyone have any suggestions of good ones that really get hot?

I use one by Gold N Hot. I have noticed that it doesn't get as hot as the one my mom used on me back in the day. That thing was green with a floral print but it would get hot!

Yes, I have a Gold 'N Hot heat cap that I use for DCs. It works well for me.

I also have a GoldNHot heat cap, which I believe works well. However, I want to try my DC using my hood drier to see which is better.

I have used the HotNGold and the Mastex. To me the Mastex gets much hotter than the HotNGold and has better heat distribution.

Yes, I always use a heat cap! I love it! I have a very old one (kaz) that snaps under the chin LOL! I think my grandmother gave it to me.

That's the one I would get.

I have this Hot Tools that feels like it barely gets warm. I bought it from Sally's before I left the states and I have found myself greatly disappointed :nono:. I am gonna have to order another one. Thanks for the advice. I am ordering one now!

Really? I think we might have the same thing:

But I love mine. I actually find it gets too hot for my head to stand on the hot setting so I usually only have it on that for a very brief time before my head feels like it's on fire, then I switch to and stay on the warm setting for the rest of the DCing time, ending with the cool setting. I use mine over a plastic cap.

I use the Gold N Hot also, doesnt get super hot, but it is way more convenien than the hooded dryer.

Someone asked before...which is better for DC and hood dryer or a heat cap?

Are heating caps better than conditioning under regular dryer?

As long as you have a plastic cap on I don't think it matters, but
I will say that more moisture is in the cap when I take it off from
a heating cap. I use a heating cap because I can't stand the noise
from a dryer. :D

Oh yeah...I use my heat cap ALL the time, deep conditioning, henna treatments, hot oil treatments. I had a Mastex for umpteen years and finally had to get a new one. I got the Gold-n-Hot and it wasn't hot at all. I bought another Mastex and that thing is on fire!

I use one everytime I DC..I don't remember the brand but I got it from treasuredlocks.com.

Nah, I think I may have gotten a much cheaper version of the one you have. Just the cap, a cord and a plug. I sooooo wasted my money:nono:.

mine is some cheap one from the BSS store. I use it everytime I DC. i'll also use it on dry hair after i moisturize and seal, then wrap my hair in saran wrap, then sit under the cap for 1 hour. This is my whole head baggy and has really help add extra moisture to dry hair.

I use my Gold N Hot Pro heat cap for deep conditioning and for doing my henna and indigo. Mine could do with one more setting... Luke warm. Because I find that even the warm is too warm for me. I have to turn it off and just coast and if I want to do it longer turn it back on. It has 3 settings and I do use the lowest setting.
