I was thinking of trying aphogee and I was reading about it on their website. It says that is rebuilds hair for 4-6 weeks so I figured it should be used as such. Does anyone use it like this??

I usually do, but I started slacking this past summer and just did regular KerapHix protein treatments each week. But, normally, I do the Aphogee treatment about every eight weeks or a couple of weeks after a retouch (I find six weeks is a little too often for my hair.) HTH! :)

Thanks, I love your pic by the way

I want to start doing it every 4-5 weeks. I find that if you shampoo after the treatment and before the moisturizer you don't get that dry straw-like thing going on. I'm also doing a clear semi-permanent gloss every relaxer from now on. It deposits extra keratin protein on your hair and strengthens it so it lasts several weeks.

Aphogee can be used weekly if the hair is in a damage state. My hair was damaged from relaxer and color and my stylist did aphogee treatments weekly until the breakage was under control. You will need to follow with good moisturizing conditioners. I now do an aphogee treatment one week prior to getting my relaxer and then two weeks following. This is part of my regimen and it keeps my hair nice and strong. I relax at 8 weeks (professionally) but this time I'm stretching to 9 weeks.

I try stretch the Aphogee treatment to every eight to 10 weeks since it is a really strong protein. If I have any breakage before then, I will use it, but not earlier than the six week period. I follow it up with a moisturizing like Nexuss Humectress or Elasta QP DPR-11.

I have religiously for the past 1.5 - 2 years. It's done wonders on the condition of my hair. I noticed that it stopped working like it used to, so I am currently looking for something else that is comparable. If your hair agrees with strong protein, you will see a difference in your strands with this stuff. I usually use the Balancing Moisturizer right afterward or DPR-11.

Make sure to clarify before you apply it to reap the best results.

For those that due use this every 6-8 weeks, are these the only protein treatments and conditioners used in your regime?

No, I deep con with OORS Replen Paks or GPB every 2 weeks. I also use MNT and Humectress as leave-ins.

I only use Aphogee for 4 x a year a few weeks after getting a touch up. Then I alternate between the reconstructor and MNT conditioner.

Back when I used to use the Aphogee Treatment, I used it the recommend every 6 weeeks. Now, I use Dudley DRC which I like a lot better (doesn't make the hair hard and makes the hair feel normal again when it starts feeling "weird") and use it about the same - usually 1-2 weeks before my relaxer and I relax every 8-9 weeks or so. I use other lighter proteins in between as needed - usually Nexxus KerapHix or Profective Growth Masque.

No. I still do protein deep conditioning treatments every week with KerapHix, ORS Replenishing pack, a semi-homemade concoction I use with MNT and egg white powder etc., and a couple of other light protein conditioners. I also have a keratin leave-in and other styling products with protein.

However, I think my hair has a very high protein tolerance (if there is such a thing  ). I've never, ever experienced breakage from excessive protein, so my hair may be the exception rather than the rule? I really just try to keep up with the Aphogee treatment for extra strength support. But, I also maintain a good regimen with moisture balance, so that could be some of why I don’t have a problem with excessive protein and breakage that can come of it.

I'm not sure how helpful that info. is, but I experimented quite a bit and found my hair is happier with seemingly excessive protein infusions.

I do and follow up with a moisturizer. I also deep condition with moistuirzers in the 6 week interim. I would recommend it. I can see how it has made my hair stronger.

Are you referring to Aphogee Intensive Keratin Reconstructor Or the Aphogee Treatment for Damaged hair?
I use the latter about every 2 months. In between that time I simply use moisturizing deep conditioners because that is my primary need until my next Aphogee treatment. I dont usually need extra protein treatments.

I use the Aphogee religiously every 9-10 weeks. I always use it one week following my relaxer.

In between that time, I sometimes use a milder protein conditioner (ie, ORS Cholesterol).... but never anything hardcore! Not trying to overdue it with the protein!
