If so, what are your likes, dislikes, benefits, etc.? I have been trying to find this product but to no avail. But before my PJism kicks in, I want to hear some feedback. It's supposed to be for damagede hair (pH 4.5). TIA.

I love it! It smells great, detangles my hair and is effective as a reconstructor/protein treatment. You can find it at Sheldeez.com. Get it!

What exactly is the meaning of a reconstructor? Is it like a deep conditioner but better? Is it a protein treatment that I can use in substitution for my aphoghee treatments?

A reconstructor is another name for a protein treatment. Aphogee treatment for dry/damaged hair is considered a reconstructor.

I personally don't like it , but it did stop the shedding I was having a year ago after my then hairdresser switched from a lye to a no lye perm without telling me. But then again I haven't been able to find anything I've really really liked.

I've only used it immediately after rinsing the relaxer from my hair. It has been a keeper for me.

Affirm 5 n 1 works great after a relaxer and after regular shampooing. It smells yummy and leaves the hair soooooo soft. It's definitely a keeper for me.

I agree with Pebbles - get it!!

Yes I use it and it is wonderful. Like another person said you can get it at Sheldeez.com they ship to all APO'sand FPO's they carry a lot of products.

You should Follw 5 in 1 with Humecto. Sometimes the 5 in1 can leave hair a little dry. Do not use it in place of Aphogee treatments. It is a creme Reconstructor with moisturizers much like the keraphix.

i never bought it denali... i was never able to find it in the bss. I think im going to try the sebastian penetraitt... it's easier to find

I like Affirm 5 n 1.

I followed the instructions on the bottle exactly on my last relaxer. I used it right after I rinsed out the relaxer and left it on for about 5 minutes then I used the neutralizing shampoo.

My hair was very silky and soft. I will continue to do it that way.

I read that some use it weekly. I didn't get it because its a collagen protein, and I already have the Crom Emergincia.

I'm sorry for the confusion.

The directions state that it can also be used as a Reconstructor, or if using after a relaxer, it says to use PRIOR to the neutralizing poo. So yes, you can use it as a reconstructor and No, it doesn't have to be used immediately after relaxer. I was feeling brave and decided to use it PRIOR to the neutralizing poo instead of after the poo and I loved the results.

I do both.

Here are the instructions:

AS STEP 3 OF AFFIRM RELAXER SYSTEM: Use immediately after rinsing creme relaxer from hair and leave on fo 5 minutes.

AS RECONSTRUCTOR TRMT: Apply liberally after shampooing. Cover hair with plastic cap and leave on for 30 minutes.

Thanks KT... i think i may go pick this up.

Denali, i have yet to see it in stores... I've been looking (not everywhere) but at least when i remember. I dont want to order it online (shipping). Does sally's carry this?

CaramelHonee, have you tried JCPenney's hair salon? I know they sale KeraCare products, but I am unsure if they sale Affirm products.

JC Penney's liberally uses Affirm 5 in 1 but it's supposed to be sold only to professionals so they don't sell it. The only place I've been able to find it is from sheldeez and shady bss'.

I used Affirm 5 in 1 reconstructer on Sunday and my hair feels so much stronger - this is the best deep conditioner I have ever used. The hairdresser has used it before on me and I knew it was good, but for some reason I never asked her which one it was until I got my relaxer 2 weeks ago. It seems to have stopped my breakage completely. This must be what aphogee was supposed to do, but that stuff never worked for me.

I just need to see if I can get away with using it weekly or whether that is too much - also I hope the effects don't wear off.

I don't really want to use anything else again!

I wouldn't use it weekly. I did that a few years back and it caused major breakage from protein overload. I was not a member of LHCF at the time and didn't understand protein/moisture balance. In hindsight I see my mistake. It's an awesome DC, but should definitely be followed with a moisture based DC after using, especially if used weekly.
