to keep braids in for 3 months at a time?

I want to hide my hair for a while to avoid knots and gain some length.

I would love to do something like this, but I think that my hair would dread. When I rinse with twists, my hair becomes this nightmare!

It may just depend on your hair type.....

I once had kinky twists in for 3 months and it was a nightmare to take out. The base of the twists were matted and thats with me washing once a week. For me 6 - 8 weeks is good enough.

Maybe cornrows, but not singles. I used to keep my weaves in for 3 months at a time (sew-ins of course). I never had any problems with tangling or dreading up. In fact, sometimes my hair would be super manageable. I don't wear weaves anymore though. But even if I did, I probably wouldn't leave them in for more than maybe 6 to 8 weeks. Personally, I wouldn't keep braids in my hair 3 months straight.

I've done singles for 3 months and been fine. Just make sure tro keep it well moisturized and don't exceed 3 months!

I've kept braids in for 3 months with retouches on the front....actually longest I had twists in one time were 4 months:look: but I think three months is ok as long as you wash regularly, so won't have build up around the base of the braid.
