For instance the week before I t-up I "paint" my protein of choice on my roots only (not including hairline). During other times I focus protein on roots and ends and "paint" moisture on the strands...etc. Seems time consuming, but I have it down to a science :look:

Post your odd routine here...

That sounds good.....never thought of that. Good thinking, i've heard of people mixing conditioners, but not this method. Interesting...

I was just going to do a thread about this.

I have fine hair in the front 1/3 of my head, so I think I'm going to apply protein there.

The rest is thick & needs moisture.

So I think I'm going to start combo-treatment sessions as well.

I have a good protein condish, but I'm trying to find a good moisture one.

Funny how 1 head has different stuff going on!

True! So I figured I would treat the hair as needed...seems to work for me;) Let me know how it works out!

Your idea sounds pretty good. I might have to remember that when I get closer to touch-up time.

I'll do this when I'm really post relaxer and I know my already relaxed ends need a particular DC but my NG is screaming for all the moisture and slip. So I'll use Silicone Mix or Praital on my NG and Emergencia or Miss Key Wheat Germ Oil concotion to my ends.

Yes, I use a Redkens distressed hair leave-in (blue bottle) on my most brittle area (nape and thinning areas) and use my regular leave-in everywhere else.

I use Redkens Distressed hair leave in sometimes too...I think it is from the Extreme line. My hair really likes Redken...been using it for years. I received some samples of some TRI today, I may try them and see how it goes.

Sometimes when doing just a regular quick conditioning I'll add a heavier conditioner to my ends (usually cholesterol). I just feel like I'm treating my ends to a little something extra when I do this and also before hair boards I used to read all I could about hair and I read that Aaliyah used to do this when she had those color dipped ends. I used to do everything she did, lol.

Sometimes when I put in my leave-in conditioners I'll put a conditioning cap on for a few minutes before detangling. I think it helps it to penetrate into the hair but who knows.....it might not do anything at all, lol.
