Hello ladies I know this seems weird but when you get your hair relaxed and you see some serious new growth, do you try to predict and measure with your fingers of where your hair length will be next time your relax??? I do and I think its sad but hey, it doesnt hurt to predict, dream and measure right???lol:look:

I have at least a 1/2 inch of new new growth and I am 7 weeks post. I am almost thinking of changing my mind and getting my hair relaxed in 2 weeks or getting it braided. I know my hair will benefit length and thick wise from braids but i AM tryng to learn to deal with my own hair so when I get to my goal length of SL or APL ill know how to deal with it.

This is the longest time I have taken care of my own hair and I am proud of myself but i am now torn between braid or getting my hair relaxed for school in 2 weeks!!!!!

What should I do????:look:

nah, i don't try and predict length.

I am asking when you get new growth do you try to measure the new length it would be if you had your hair relaxed again??

and the second question is should i get braids or just have my hair relaxed again for school in 2 weeks????

Yes, I do pre-measure. It's a bad habit, but what the heck. It's fun playing the length game, especially when your hair turns out longer than you expected.

As for the braids, I think it depends on the kind of braids you're trying to get and how long you plan on leaving them in. If you're not a regular stretcher and you have 8 weeks of new growth plus 14 weeks of braids growth, it might be hard to handle all the new growth when you take out the braids. But if you feel you can handle it, then go for it.
