I like my Hot Tools Soft Bonnet dryer very much! I can use it comfortably anywhere, in almost any position, including just lolling around in bed or on the couch. And my big rollers fit under it, too. For the past few months or so I've been air drying my roller sets most of the time, but when I'm in a hurry and need to dry my hair quickly, it's my Hot Tools Soft Bonnet for me. I hardly ever use my hood dryer.
Dazey Natural Wonder. I haven't seen them in stores in a long time, but I got two off eBay this year. I had one when I was in high school, but it got lost when my parents moved.
My aunt has been using the same two Dazey hard and soft dryers for at least 20 years. They rattle, but they still work like new.
I have a lady dazey as well. It works well for deep conditioning. Sometimes I lay on the bed and read while I deep condition. I may buy a hard bonnet for roller sets when I migrate to larger rollers though.
A soft bonnet is definitely on my list for next year. I think it will make me more consistent on deep conditioning and possibly give me more styling options.
I did write a post yesterday, but I don't know what happened to it. I got a hot tools hard bonnet for my birthday today because I think it is basically like the lady dazey. But thanks for the advice because like Hairlove said a soft bonnet will be on my list.
I use a carel soft bonnet hair dryer. It gets much hotter than my old one (hot tools) which equals less drying time. For me it takes approx 1 hr for my hair to dry in rollers when I use the bonnet dryer.
I will kill anyone who tries to ome between me and my Dazey!!!! I have tried the "new" gold n hot, carel, etc.. when I thought that I was "grown" ....but nothing beats the old white Dazey in the carrying case.....There was a time when I used safety pins and duct tape to hold the bonnet together because I refused to buy a new one and couldn't get a replacement bonnet......I have been known to ask little old ladies if they have one sitting at home collecting dust. This has helped me to be able to replace my bonnet and hose!!!! The older ones are definately hotter!!! Flea markets are also a great source!!!!!!
I prefer my hard bonnet. My soft bonnet only lasted for about 5 uses and then the bonnet became too loose. I only dry for deep conditioning so I just use my hard bonnet.
i have a carel and am not pleased with it. the heat is concentrated in the back where the hose is at, so the back gets dried much faster than the front. i try to turn the bonnet around so the heat will be concentrated at other parts of my head but it's such a hassle. i need an older version soft bonnet, but scared to search on ebay. what if it breaks down on me after a couple uses.
I had a lazy dazey back when i had a relaxer and it was okay but i think hard tops circulate the heat better. so when the ld broke i just got a gold n hot hard top which i still have now.
