If so, can you tell me? I've searched on the internet, but they want me to buy the book! I figured since there are cosmetologists on board, I can get instructions for free!! :)

TIA!!! :)

I have never tried this, but there is a thread on this board about putting the hair into a high ponytail and cutting the ends straight across. When you remove the ponytail holder, you will have layers.

It was featured on a talk/makeover show...

cut about one inch off of your hair making one inch horizontal strips as you move up toward your crown.

pm honii, shes better at explaining it than i am

This is how I use to cut my layers till I decided to try all one length.

Really? Hmmm......:scratchch

thanks weave. I'll ask her!

you can either layer the whole head, or just the top.

to layer the whole head, you would section off the hair into 4 sections, leaving out about 1/2 inch sections all around the head (except for at the front). cut or trim the hair to the length you want the longest part of your hair to be. you have now established your guide. then, let one of the sections in the back down and taking vertical partings, comb the hair straight out (90 degrees) along with the guide, and cut it all the length of your guide. work until everything is even, then move on to the next section. get it?

its kinda hard to understand...i've been planning to do a how-to on it, but my mannequinn's lookin too cute right now with her spiral curls. lol when it gets old i'll wash it and do the how to.

Thanks, hOnii!

I get the guide part. I'm having a hard time visualizingthe rest, though. After cut all of the hair one length, if I go up and cut the other hair the same length as the guide, won't it still be the same length!!!:confused::confused:

I"m lost!!!!

Yes this is the quick way of doing a 180 degree hair cut/long layer cut. :)

I'm gonna try what sassygirl suggested on Sally. If that doesn't work, then I'll try what hOnii suggested. Poor Sally. She may not have any hair when I'm finished with her!
