I never even considered doing this until I saw one of my coworkers in the restroom one morning with a spread of makeup and hair care items on the counter in front of the mirror. She had her jumbo curling iron plugged in and was doing some barrel curls I must have had a funny look on my face because she laughed when she saw me in the mirror and explained that it was too humid outside and her hair would always be a frizzy mess by the time she got to the office (this was in the summer). She has super thick coarse hair (she's latina), so I guess I don't blame her.
If I'm worried about my style falling, I put it in a ponytail or bun until I get to work, then fix it up when I get there. I don't keep any hair tools at work.
Yep, I used to carry a flat iron with me to my firm back when I was abusing my hair with heat, I used to re-flat iron if it poofed up because of the summer humidity......damn I got some resilient hair
No, I don't. I only use my flat iron after my hair has been shampooed and deep conditioned. If my hair needs to be flat iron, it'll just have to wait until wash day, no ifs ands or buts.
I have a flat iron in my classroom closet. It's been there for over 3 years, but I have never used it. When I am teaching, my hair is the least of my concerns.
