Do you have a Maxiglide

I don't have a Maxiglide, but I used my friend's once. I thought it was pretty good--a little heavy but I thought it worked well. I liked the fact that I could get down to the roots with the comb built into it. I didn't have as much new growth then, so I don't know how well it'd work now, but it kept my roots flat for a while.

I'm considering buying one later on myself though...

I used to but I sold my on ebay.

I like a 1 inch flatiron and the Maxiglide was too bulky for me.

I have one and I have a Mini glide as well. I like mine, but I find I gravitate toward the mini glide more because the bulk is a little hard to maneuver; it takes practice and I am getting better. It gets the hair straight, but as it is a flat iron, the hair is just that...FLat, lol. But I don't think any flat iron can give you body like a roller set and blowout can. Ok, I'm rambling now, but I like it, and I never really tried any other flatirons.

I have a Maxiglide and a FHI flat iron. I'd have to use my flat iron again to really be able to judge the difference. It's been good awhile.

The Maxiglide does work well though. I use it without the plates.

I liked it the 1st time I used it but I think it's straight garbage now. Soon as I get some money I'm gonna get a FHI w/ the adjustable temp.

TEMPERATURE WHICH GETS REALLY HOT AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

The mini glide does not have a temperature setting but the Maxiglide settings go from 1-10.

I use the maxiglide and I love it! It gets my new growth really will. When I finish my hair it looks like I went to the hairdresser to get my hair done.:D

I have one and have used it a grand total of 3 times! I was not impressed and my hair had a burnt smell:nono:

i have one but I have never used it. I dont use heat in my hair much at all. I get all excited about buying things but get to them months later. Sad I know. Let me know how you like it if you gt it.

Whats interesting is that I went to the Maximus website, who makes it... and they are sold out of all of them..

So they dont have temp settings??

The Maxiglide has temperature settings- 1-10.

I have a Maxiglide and I love it.
The Maxiglide gets my hair straighter than my Chic 1inch Flat iron and give the Salon look.
The Maxiglide gets my hair straight on a low heat setting like 2 thats why I like it so much.

I have a maxiglide and have used it twice. I really liked it at first, but now I don't like it at all and will never use it again.

It leaves my hair smelling burnt (on setting 4!) and it's not swingmatic afterwards. :nono:

I have a maxiglide and a miniglide. I like my maxiglide but I personally think it works better on longer hair like apl hair. My hair is grazing my shoulders not much but it's getting there. I do not use my maxiglide because I do not want to use heat and it gets the hair real flat. When my hair is apl I will use the maxi glide to get the straight look until then I have it put up because I'm hiding my hair until christmas.

I have natural hair and I have one and LOVE IT. I never have a burnt smell but I use it on setting 5 or 6. I normally blowdry first and then use it. It gets my hair very straight and many folks thought I had gone and permed my hair after I used it. Boy were they fooled and surprised that I told them I did it w/ "The Glide". 2 of my friends have since bought one and LOVE IT!

I had the exact same experience, love my maxiglide!

I bought a maxiglide and I love it. After shampooing, I usually air dry my hair, after that, I will maxiglide and the results are great. I have a lot of swing and I use it on a lower setting 4 or 5. It is a bit bulky, but you can get the hang of it. I like it a lot.

Yes, I love the maxi as well and I am natural. I use the '5' setting also and my hair gets straight in one shot. The maxiglide just glides through my hair- I don't have to tug and pull my hair through it at all. The instructional DVD is your best friend.

I purchased mine at a Bed, Bath & Beyond store. Thanks to the lovely ladies of LHCF, I followed their suggestion and registered for the coupon to be mailed to me and I saved 20% off of the store price of $79.99 (Maxi only).

I've only used it once now I have to hide it so I won't be tempted to straighten every week. I used it on level 4, but next time I'll go lower. That thing gets hot!

Bubln, what do you use on your hair before you Maxi? Did you find it took some getting use to not to have snags when using the teeth plate?

It seems that most natural ladies have success with this more than relaxed ladies...

I have heard about the burnt smell alot...

I don't really use anything extra on my hair when I use it,but I just purchased this straightening glaze from blended-beauty that I will start using now. It didn't take any getting used to at all. The thing is to let it glide through the hair, don't force it through. It does exactly what it says- it glides!

I'm relaxed and I absolutely LOVE my maxiglide. I have never ever smelled a burnt smell. I keep the setting on 5 and I use it with the teeth only. Pic in my sig below after maxiglide.
