Do you cut rows out of your weave?

Ok so I am currently protective styling and I am doing it by wearing cornrows in the front and a half wig in the back.

Today I bought a lovely curly half weave but its just so big and poofy and I feel silly with it looking so BIG. I like big hair but not too big, esp if as its fake! I hate wearing fake hair to be honest but its a good protective style however I don't want it to look too ridiculous so I was thinking of cutting a few rows down to tame the poof.

Anybody else do this?

i always do that. I usually trim it, layer it, and cut some of the hair out close to the tracks. I would suggest anyone do it cuz straight outta the bag wigs don't look right on everyone. you have to style it to your own head
