i've always had a habit of testing everything before I use it. for example, some manufactures suggest testing of their products in an inconspicuous place before using in case an adverse reaction occurs. (i think box perms recommend this.)

well with my hair products i always put a little of the product on the back of my hand in the parking lot of the BSS and feel how my skin feels after it dries or when i get home. (some of them have itched my skin y'all...that can never be good) anyway, i haven't pretested products on my hair before in one spot and i was wondering if someone else tests products on their hair first or and can share their method for testing? all comments welcome!

I've never tested products out prior to use. Like southernstunner said it sounds like a good idea but I have never done it.

i know...its hard to make time and effort to do this. i just hear about product nightmares and it can all be prevented through testing. i think i may try that with the aphogee 2minute reconstructor before I use it for my whole head of hair. the reviews are too mixed for me to try it all over. i'm just getting started and i couldn't imagine a bigger setback. I think the aphogee treatment will perform better for my relaxed bangs than for my natural hair. we'll see...

Nope, I'm not a patch tester. I read the instructions, I know my hair, and I read the experiences of others but I don't patch test.
