Do it yourself Weaves

I was wondering if anyone here has ever used those weave kits that I've seen advertised. They come with 3 caps (plastic, mesh and wig cap) and pre-cut hair, so all you are supposed to do it arrange the pieces and put the hair in place. Does it work? And how does it look?

Or if anyone knows how to make realistic wigs/weave caps, how do you do it? Thanks!

I saw the Sensationnel ones at the beauty supply for like 17.99. That was pretty cheap. I've attempted making a wig before, but it didn't come out right. What I did was basically place a shower cap over my mother's head, and then a stocking cap. Then, I glued each weft down, layer by layer. In the end, it looked way too big. If you do decide to do it, you have to use a plastic cap over your head and then glue the tracks down. And make sure the stocking cap isn't baggy, or else, the wig will look weird.
