I am going to use my reconstruction conditioner for the first time today. Just wondering if I need to shampoo first. Also, the bottle says to leave it on for five minutes . . . at the salon they have me wear the stuff under the dryer for 20 minutes. Just wondering if I can/should wear it for longer (no heat) at home?

Advice please!

Yes, shampoo first. If you have one, a clarifying shampoo would be best. If you don't have a dryer at home then leave it on for longer.

Don't leave it on too long, you can have adverse effects, like dry hard hair. I usually follow the directions...
