I bought a large size of the Alterego Coconut Contioning Mask to save $$. It was $30 for 1000ml as opposed to $20 for 250ml. The small one is always sealed with a protective foil-like covering. The small one is white.

I opened the large one and there was NO SEAL & the color is beige not white.
It smells the same. Should I return it????????? Has it gone bad?

i would take it back and check any other bottles on the shelf...it could have been used before or the seal could hve been plucked off and made it turn another color

Ditto. That is a lot of mone. Take it back.

I found a tub of "Cholesterol" conditioner under the sink once...not more than a few months old. When I opened the jar, it had black flecks in it. I took that to be mold...so I threw it away.

I think any product can turn rancid if left on the shelf long enough or if it has been exposed to extreme conditions before it gets to the store.

thanks ladies, i sent it back. i just hope i won;t have to fight for my refund. i got it from sickbay.biz. fyi

Whenever I have a problem with a product if I have the info for the manufacturer I call them. I had never thought to do this until I worked for P&G, people call our 800# for all kinds of problems and we always send their money back or send a total replacement coupon to remedy the situation. People call all day everyday about broken Pringles and always get a free can out of it. (Shhhhhhh you did not hear that from me)

Also the manufacturer can tell you if the product's color has changed. And yes conditioners do go bad, they tend to have a 2-3 year shelf life.
