Okay, so I have tried to do flexirods about 6 years ago and they came out AWFUL and soggy and I had to go to work/class looking ONE HOT MESS!:perplexed

I swore them off and never used them again. Well the other day I was looking around and stumbled across Ms. DLewis herself, and this BEAUTIFUL flexirod set she created. THEN she had the BEST TUTORIAL EVA on how to do them yourself. It was so beautiful and I became so inspired, so I told myself to give it one more try and I went home and immediately pulled out all my supplies...:rolleyes:

I was so discouraged when I tried twice back in 2003 and I was soooo nervous while rolling and spraying and combing and waiting under that HOT DRYER ( i need a soft bonnet:yep:)and they came out actually FORMED into a SPIRAL!

They may not be up to your standards, but DLewis, you helped me SOOOOO much with that! I jus lub you so much!!!:grin:

I think they came out good. Shiny and bouncy and soft... I'm about to post the pics of my hair 4 days later...below this post...

What I need help with now...I can't figure out how I'm supposed to sleep with this hair bonnet on. When I lay down, they get smushed (the curls) while inside the satin bonnet, so my curls don't last as long as they probably could. All in all, I am very pleased... This is what they looked like before I divided them up...

Owwww, they turned out great.

I sleep with a satin bonnet on. Mine last about 4-5 days and still look good. I use a ratio of about 80/20 (setting lotion / water) in my spray bottle. It gives a firmer holds and helps it to last.

I think you did great.:yep::yay:

Thank you!!!!!

What I used was about 30% Lottabody
then I mixed in about 20% Motions wrap lotion/mousse
then I added in about 10% of that hot six or african pride oil
and the rest was about 40% water in my spray bottle...

Now my question is... how do you take them out? Do you just comb the curls out and then wash or comb thru while in the shower? Maybe I should spray some Hawaiian Silky 14 N 1 through it...but it's so greasy, I don't kow if I'd be setting myself up for tangles and whatnot...:nono:

I detangle in the shower. Using a good detangler like Stabilizer Plus. Being very carefull to take it a section at a time.

Thank you all so much! I was very proud of my first little rollerset. NOW. When I get home today I'm gonna attempt this magnetic rollerset thing. I keep hearing alot about how hard and difficult it is, but hopefully I will do good and have more pics to post on those!
