"She also told me my hair was "eating the relaxer because it was hungry""
OMG that's the funniest quote I've read so far!

OP, you'll have to make a choice. Your Hair or Your Stylist. The fact is you just wasted your MegaTek money because the woman snipped away all of your progress. Plus if you pay to come to this site then you have the knowledge to do your own hair. Even if you don't go natural you can learn how to take care of your own hair. I cut my transitioning hair nape length in 07. By the end of 08 I was BSL. There's no way in hell I would've been able to gain all that length had I gone to a stylist.

I say dump her! Dump her before she too claims your hair was hungry for relaxers and scissors LOL

Puh-leeze, just don't make an appt or make one on your terms, every couple months.
See you when I see you....with much longer hair

OKKKAY! I have dumped a few stylists this way. Cancelled my standings.. and even after receiving text messages..ignored they a's.. It's a personal relationship; but I feel you're not my friend when you do bad things to my hair.. so then I don't care. If you're nonconfrontational, just don't schedule appts.. and if you go after a long stint away.. just say I'm trying to go in a different direction with my hair and learn to do it myself. That'll shut em up..usually..especially when you come back with it longer than when you left.

They say now.. oh don't mess with Fab.. she'll drop you in a minute.. bcause my mom still goes to one that got broken up with.. Damn Skippy.. I am a good client. I come regularly, I pay my fee.. sometimes with a tip .. If your products aren't up to my standards, I bring my own and still pay your fee. I send you a christmas card.. get you gifts if you're getting married, having a baby, or its your birthday. Stop by and get you a starbucks on my way.. the least you can do is do my doggone hair right!

That's why I love my new stylist.. I tell her what my goals are and she agrees with them. Never says "well you think you know better than me since you been on that forum a few months and I've had this license for 15 yrs..".. that did it for me.. EX Stylist.. HOLLA!

Girl you know you are one of my favorite people on here!!! When you comment on something you just tell it like it is. Whenever I see you respond to something I know its going to be right on the money and funny!:lachen:

I like her comments too lol :lachen:, Girl you have to be that way sometimes or people will think your a push over.

She also told me my hair was "eating the relaxer because it was hungry".
.

:lachen::lachen: Someone needs to take her beautician license after that stupid comment lol, Did you laugh? lol I would be cracking up and at the same time removing myself from her chair. :lachen:

Did you sign a pre-nup? Just kidding. I would leave, you work to hard for the money you have now to give it to someone whio isnt doing a good job.

That stylist needs to hit the road... STAT!!!!

I am so blessed to have my stylist even though I keep it at a minimum now... What she can do I can do just as good... Aint nothing like doing own, so you know what it it that you want and need... Lol...

The stylist I go to now is just for relaxers and she herself said that I was taking good care of my hair so I knew what I was doing.

For me, if I don't care for the stylist's method of doing things I don't even bother going back. They care about their money and if they even smell that they can intimidate you, then they will cause they know that you'll always come back.

I still go to my stylist because she does a nice relaxer; however, she used to complain about me waiting 8-9 weeks for a touch-up. When I stopped coming for weekly wash/rollersets, I guess she figured some business is better than none at all.

Also, she is scissor happy and has banned from cutting my hair since Feb. 2007. She still asks me occassionally, but I kindly say, "no thank you." I never got past NL in the 1.5 years I went to her; now I think I may be approaching midback since I stopped letting her cut - not trim - my hair. I get trims at Supercuts type place where they are used to doing trims and know what a trim is (1/8 to 1/4 of an inch).

You will feel so empowered taking control of your hair.

BTW...my stylist and I are still friends.

I've been there. Went to my ex-stylist from 2003 until 2007. Gave her gifts on her birthday, went to her baby shower, etc.

But she was not LISTENING to me. She was scissor happy. When I cut my hair to a pixie cut because of damage, I told her that I wanted to grow it out. My hair never got past neck length. Said that short hair was better for me. So I had to let her go...

I just left. In the end, even when you get close--it's still a business transaction. You are still a customer, and if you are not satisfied, you are more than justified to leaving.

I just wish I had of left earlier, my new stylist knows what a trim entails and I only go to him for relaxer service and he understands I'm trying to grow out my hair. Been going to him for almost 9 months and my hair is grazing SL.

Run, Forest, Run! That's what I say...find a new stylist.
