I need some advice. I have been wearing a ponytail for the last year, but I'm burned out. I have gone to a HD to style, but in a humid state my hair does not last more than two hours within leaving the shop. I tried to wear a wrap, but because my hair is a bit thin in texture. It just blows up soon as I go outside. Do you think maybe cutting it into a style will help hold? I have tried the sew in weave to see if it would hold, but no luck. It's only been three days since it has been put in and I'm back at the same problem. The cold front should be coming in night, but I don't want to have to flat iron everyday - when it was above my shoulder - the style held - all I did was wrap every night. I'm not armpit, but past shoulder length if that helps.

Have you tried to do Rollerset, Bantu Knots, braid outs or Buns? These are different from styles that you could do and maybe you would be able to have a difference in hair styles.

If you want your hair straight, maybe you could try using an anti-humectant product, like a pressing wax or Aveda anti-humectant. If you're tired of fighting it, maybe you can wear your hair in a wavy or curly ponytail during the humid weather. When I do that I use AG Fast Food to keep my hair from poofing up. I also use Fantasia IC gel no matter what the weather is, and tie my hair down with a scarf for a while in the morning.

I hope this helps.
